@@Graeme_Lastname You do know that as quickly as you can write your opinion, you can look up the truth? From COURT SERVICES VICTORIA AUSTRALIA: OATHS AND AFFIRMATIONS OATHS An oath is a verbal promise to tell the truth. Oaths are frequently made while holding the Bible, the New Testament or the Old Testament. Witnesses may choose to swear an oath on another relevant religious text. It is not necessary that a religious text be used in taking an oath. Oaths may be taken by individuals, or by two or more people at the same time. For a witness appearing in court, the form of oath taken is generally as follows: "I swear (or the person taking the oath may promise) by Almighty God (or the person may name a god recognized by his or her religion) that the evidence I shall give will be the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth." There is a separate oath for people who act as an interpreter in court. If this applies to you, the form of the oath for interpreters in court can be found at Schedule 1 to the Evidence Act 2008. AFFIRMATIONS An affirmation is a verbal, solemn and formal declaration, which is made in place of an oath. A person may choose to make an affirmation rather than taking an oath. An affirmation has the same effect as an oath. Affirmations may be made by individuals or by two or more people at the same time. For a witness appearing in court, the form of affirmation is as follows: "I solemnly and sincerely declare and affirm that the evidence I shall give will be the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth." There is a separate affirmation for those who undertake the role of an interpreter in court. If this applies to you, the form of the affirmation for interpreters in court can be found at Schedule 1 to the Evidence Act 2008. ABSENCE OF RELIGIOUS BELIEF If an oath has been properly administered and taken, the fact that the person to whom the oath was administered had no religious beliefs at that time does not affect the validity of the oath. I think you should actually LEARN to read the Bible. This was during the separation between God and man. Laws religious leaders used to follow. Laws that were wrong. Murder is absolutely not tolerable in any way. Jesus was sent and created the New Testament, which we are actually supposed to live by. Any argument against Christianity with evidence from the Old Testament is invalid.
@some_dude10 Жыл бұрын
@Fengari No, not the old laws. Those are a thing from over 2000 years ago. Don’t let uneducated like this one fool you. No true Christian would off someone for male intercourse.
@insideinside9450 Жыл бұрын
@@some_dude10 I think you are mistaken. If Christianity ought not to be judged off the old testament then I may as well come and kill you or sleep with your wife and still be considered clean. Remember sin is the transgression of the law but there are almost no commandments in the new testament, except for Matthew 5: 39 through to about 45 but boy there are a lot of them in the Old Testament. Can I also make this clear, Jesus makes not only reference to the old testament in one of his biggest rebuttals yet, but he makes direct reference to Moses' writing when talking about the greatest law. Mark 12: 29 & 30 (read in your bible) is almost directly quoting Deuteronomy 6: 4 & 5 meaning that Jesus on Earth saw the Old Testament as useful. Also in Mark 12: 29 - 31 he was making reference to Deuteronomy 5: 6-22 and Exodus 20: 1-17. It is also rude and biblically wrong for you to say that the laws written by Moses "The Greatest Prophet" is wrong. It is in Amos 3:7 where the Prophet writes that God does nothing without revealing his plans to his prophets (btw this is not me quoting) it is also In the New Testament where Paul writes in 2 Timothy 3: 16 that all scriptures, even the law and the poetic books, ALL SCRIPTURES ARE GIVEN BY INSPIRATION OF GOD FOR DOCTRINE CORRECTION ETC (again not me quoting). It is then biblically incorrect of you to call the laws of Moses wrong. The Christian Church must take the old testament seriously. You mentioned the religious leader and Jesus having a problem with them. I mean who would not... But I want to bring to you 1 actual situation with Jesus recorded by John. (John 8: 1 - 11) A woman was caught in the very act of Adultery. They brought her to Jesus to test him to see if he would justify the sin of the woman or allow them to kill the woman and Jesus said to them let him that is without sin cast the first stone. We know that story well. I want to make a point then I will be done Firstly Jesus Recognizes her actions as sin through the laws written by God's own fingers as he says in verse 11 Go and sins no more. He also recognizes Moses' punishment for Adultery in Leviticus 20:10, because he says cast the first stone if you are sinless. But like Paul writes "The wages of sin (adultery) is death, but the gift of god is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. And so Moses is right for writing those Laws and Punishments but God offers his Grace. Romans 5:20 Where sin abounds Grace, rather than Punishment, much more abounds. I want those who will read to understand that Death is the punishment for homosexuality, adultery, murder, Lying, etc. but even when caught in the very act God's Grace, God's gift is extended to each and every one. Nothing is wrong with Leviticus Chapters 16-20 but something is wrong with us called sin. Let us allow God in our lives, obey his law , and stop finding excuses to break them. And even when we BREAK them John tells us in his first Epistle, "If we confess our sins he his faithful and just to forgive us all our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (btw me now quoting 😂) (WHEN TRYING TO SEARCH FOR SOME OF THE SCRIPTURES USE THE KING JAMES VERSION)

And when he was come into his house, he took a knife, and laid hold on his concubine, and divided her, together with her bones, into twelve pieces, and sent her into all the coasts of Israel.” To put it very bluntly this poor, young lady was murdered by her mate for being raped. ~~Exodus 12:29 God killed, intentionally, every first-born child of every family in Egypt, simply because he was upset at the Pharaoh. You would think that God could understand that sometimes the youthful make childish jokes. Ah, the infamous chapter. I’m not sure if I want to cover this one. But.. I am ready, so let’s do this. Leviticus 20:1-5 So it’s not ok for anyone to sacrifice their children to Molek or any other false idols but child sacrifice is A-Ok when they sacrifice their children to YHWH like a certain chapter in Judges. This chapter is going to use the word “stone” a lot as to mean the death penalty. Woah, woah.. What if the family hadn’t heard about the child sacrifice to Molek or any of the false gods? By setting his face against him, YHWH means bringing his wrath against the offender and give him the death stare. Fail to stone the offender and YHWH will also give the offender’s family the death stare. Leviticus 20:6-8 Blah blah blah, anyone who turns to mediums and spiritists are prosituting themselves and are to be cut off, what else is new? This makes me want to watch some Harry Potter. Guess I’ll be joining Harry Potter in Hell. Leviticus 20:9 This one is mixed. Yes, at first glance, it does seem like we should respect our parents… Only if they were to love and care for their kids in the first place. Not everyone has that luxury where they’re fully supported and loved to the max. The problem with this is there are plenty of parents who abuse their kids like how Abraham almost sacrificed Isaac as a burnt offering in Genesis 22. Some parents don’t deserve that kind of respect especially if they’re going to be assholes to their kids. YHWH is an abusive parent himself. Worst father ever! Leviticus 20:10 Again, like the previous verse, this is also mixed. I’ve covered this one back in the Ten Commandments. If it’s non-consensual Adultery (If x agrees with y but z doesn’t, then it’s non-consensual), then I can understand but I fail to see what’s “death penalty” worthy about it. If it were rape (if x invades y’s personal boundaries and z disapproves), then the penalty would be a sentence in jail. Now, if it’s consensual (x, y and z all agree to let x be with y) then consenting adults should not be getting punished let alone get the death penalty. Why the adulteress need to be put to death? It’s not fair to her regardless if she gave consent or not. Victim blaming, Welcome to Saudi Texas where women gets the worst end of the stick. Leviticus 20:11 Didn’t we already cover that 2 chapters ago? Again, if the mother were to get raped by her own son, why put her to death? For what? Not speaking loud enough? She should have the human right to self-defense as everyone else. Also, wouldn’t the father protect their wives from danger? What does the author mean by “their blood will be in their own heads”? Leviticus 20:12 There appears to be a theme here.. Putting all parties to death regardless of how women feel about it. Leviticus 20:13 Oh goodie, being told I’m worthy of death if I had any feelings for another man or a transgender person or anyone that’s not the opposite gender. I wouldn’t be surprised if Conversion Therapy turns out to reenforce this law. Ask the s**cide rates. It reflects very badly on this law and the author that wrote it. If people say yes on anti-LGBT laws, then they are terrible people. Who else are they going to discriminate? How far are they willing to go on following the Bible? To the max? We will get someone like Greg Locke if we were to follow the Bible to the fullest. On the other side, if no, then some can resort into the “No True Scotsman” fallacy by calling them “Fake Christians”. LGBTQ+ Christians endures this a lot by extremists. The moment we go against the Bible or aren’t good enough, we would be inferior to them. How can they be “fake” Christians if the Bible is so ambiguous? How would they know what a “true” Christian look like? Leviticus 20:14 Nothing new. Next! Leviticus 20:15 Who would want to have that kind of relationship with animals? Animals, like children, cannot give meaningful consent. Is there any incidents in the past chapters or books that displayed this? Did YHWH know anyone who had done the deed and got punished as a result? Also, why kill the animal? Let me guess, the animal is unclean and must be stranded to die. Leviticus 20:16 Again, who in the right mind would want to have a sexual relationship with an animal? It doesn’t matter what gender. Wouldn’t a man who is trying to save animals to sacrifice be pissed if anyone is caught having that relationship with an animal? This is icky, next! Leviticus 20:17 So, no death penalty? That is what I am expecting throughout this chapter. Is YHWH going to decide when to punish the excommunicated siblings? Might as well just get it over with considering he had said how the land will vomit them out. Leviticus 20:18 Already covered. Next! Leviticus 20:19 Don’t sleep with aunts or uncles. Does sleeping with your best friend’s (or neighbor’s) aunt (single or open-relationship) count as breaking the law? Leviticus 20:20 “They will die childless” Fine by me. I’m never interested in having kids in the first place. It has no effect on me. Moving on, next! Leviticus 20:21 Genesis 38 will beg to differ. Onen died and his brother’s widowed wife marries the brother because he would die otherwise (forgot exactly what chapter and verse in Genesis, do feel free to correct me). Too little, too late. Leviticus 20:22-24 A foreshadowing to Joshua. Keep this in mind when we get there. It also foreshadows Leviticus 26 with its lists. Good to know how artificial Biblical love can be. Their slogan should be: We love you with all our hearts. Come to the magical, luxurious paradise Eden. It is superior to Disney World in every capacity. Come be with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; we will welcome you with open arms. They will accept you. You must accept the terms and conditions to apply.

I Have a short story to share with you here, inspired by Mark Twain's wonderfully cynical style: The Legend of Sil (updated* ) We always called him “Sil” up until the day he died. And well, usually even after that. My uncle Silvester-I mean, Sil-was not an exceptional man. He was an accountant, a good accountant, living in a rich neighborhood, but the only thing I really remember about him was the incident that made him legendary. You see, he was fervent in his religion. A good believer, by all standards: went to his house of worship, prayed, tried to get me and everyone else to pray, gave money to the leaders, hated the right things including non-believers, you know, all those things so carefully spelled out in his Holy Book. And he read the Holy Book. Oh, how he loved his Holy Book. Or I should say Holy Books. He had a collection that ranged from sizes encyclopedic to miniscule, and in seven different languages, too. There was one on his desk at work, one at his bedside, one on the dining table, two in the bathroom (in case one got wet), two in the car (front and back seats), and of course the proverbial shirt pocket-sized Book he always kept on his person, not surprisingly usually in his shirt pocket, so as to be as close as possible right over his heart. Things were going very well for Sil, until one day, in his rich neighborhood, he found himself caught in the middle of a group of teenagers out for a little fun. They were doing the usual teen kind of things, you know, like, walking in groups, being loud, laughing, and firing off their assorted weapons. Well, wouldn’t you know it? One of those bullets went astray, and flew right in front of Sil’s chest from the side. They say it should have simply passed in front of him, maybe making a little mark on the lapel of his suit, but instead the bullet hit the proverbial shirt pocket-sized Holy Book, which ricocheted the bullet to change direction, and it went right into his heart and killed him. Nowadays I take time every once in a while to pray that I don’t ever again fall victim to another chain letter. Don Rechtman 13 November, 2010; updated 19 February, 2015 * When I first penned this story, I was responding to a plethora of literary and supposedly literal stories that have been circulating for many years and still occasionally make brief headlines. Unfortunately, my first version, while intending to allude to a very narrow abstract religious group, ended up targeting a rather large religious segment of society, many of whose members (now) understandably took offense. At the time I simply did not know how to make it more generic. In this updated version, I have been very careful to attain substantial enough vagueness to ensure that anyone from any religious group may find it reasonable to take offense. The Author, 19 February, 2015

Thank you for sharing this ironic story. My interpretation is this. The book in his pocket helped kill him, though it was completely unrelated to it’s content. If it had been a similarly constructed book with no title or words, it would have had the same effect. But THE SAME holds true for if it had diverted the bullet and saved his life. Christians however would say yay to the former and nay to the latter🥴

I've long said that the torah, bible, qur'an, etc, are like chain letters on steroids. Like Chain Letters they want others to spread their message. Like Chain Letters they threaten dire consequences for those who don't follow their directions. Like Chain Letters they promise that good things will ultimately happen to those who do follow their directions. Like Chain Letters they have *nothing* to back up those claims, and like Chain Letters they're made up by madmen and liars! The NT is very much high pressure sales tactics and MLM nonsense. They tell people that they're special, that other people who most people consider wise are really the stupid ones, and that god thinks they are the clever ones. Also, you must -Buy- believe NOW, because tomorrow -the Sale will be Over- you could die and then you’d go to Hell. It's _very_ manipulative!

The original 10 commandments said thou shalt not kill in Exodus 20. You remember, the ones that Moses broke the tablets they were written on. I don't remember if it was in the Exodus 35 Ten Commandments. I just remember it saying something like lay waste to everyone that stands in your way, take the spoils of war, and don't boil a baby goat in its mother's milk, for some odd reason. So, umm, thou shalt kill?

Your aunt can be the wife of your father or mother’s brother, so not a relative. And sometimes the age difference in a family is so big, that the children of the oldest sibling are about the same age as their youngest aunt or uncle. The only problem with sex between niece/nephew and uncle/aunt that’s not a blood-relative is, that it probably means a hell of a problem within the family.

The advertisement before this was about how the Bible is biblical poetry and symbolism. I HATE this statement about the Bible because that is like saying someone (god) wanted to tell you an important message so he had the message written in riddles. That is so stupid - just think if warning signs on roads where written in poem or furniture companies wrote their assembly instructions in riddles. If I really want you to know something and I have it written as symbolism then I'm obviously not very smart......

Again, the gawd yah-whey is outraged over sacrifice to the rival gawd mole-ache. This is hilarious. Yah-whey is so triggered about mole-ache sacrifice that it goes scorched earth about what happens to anyone who does such a transgression. Clearly, this is simply the ravings of a jealous gawd over a rival gawd. Much like an abusive partner, gawd lets that human emotion of jealousy control itself with much pride and hubris. Gawd even threatens the families of mole-ache worshippers. Clearly, yah-whey is in a state of psychotic angst, as it keeps going about with more threats over other rule-breakers. What a pathetic gawd this is indeed! But he loves you!

If god is only now getting round to passing on these pearls of its wisdom, were these actions 'wrong' before it told anyone. If god had not told everyone that sacrificing kids to molek was wrong then how can it the get pissy if they have done things that it does not like. which rules were being broken when god murdered everyone with the flood. who had he told the rules to and how had they passed the rules onto everyone else. If the rules were 'built in' then why the need to regurgitate them here.
@Daniel-cz7kd2 жыл бұрын
Dave Brown You know, there’re no words of wisdom passed on by god, and god’s rules were never broken, in fact god has always been out to sacrifice and murder kids to molek and every other god possible, as well as women and men.

@@Daniel-cz7kd Right around the time a supposedly omniscient god (who would know exactly who would be the first to greet Jephthah on his return home) granted Jephthah his victory. Is your supposed god omniscient or not, Daniel? Then there's the supposed omnibenevolent aspect of your supposed god: An omnibenevolent and omniscient being would have stopped Jephthah, but yours didn't. Why is that, Daniel? @boomanchu2 Simply no. As for “Why is that, Daniel?” Simply, god’s not an omnibenevolent nor omniscient being nor is he my god, and your correct, he endorses human sacrifice and approves and gives rule of chattel slavery to any who pleases him; he hates us, and uses people like Hemant to teach the Bible the wrong way along with science, history, morality and other such branches of learning and understanding.

For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, [even] his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse: because that, knowing God, they glorified him not as God, neither gave thanks; but became vain in their reasonings, and their senseless heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God for the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things.

Often it's said that one of the reasons God hated the Canaanites and all the other people in the Holy Land is that they practiced human sacrifice, specially of children. Of course, the irony of God punishing them for killing children in the name of their gods, by ordering the Israelites to kill all of them, down to the last children, in his God's name, always eludes them. God demanding them to stone people to death and ordering them to genocide entire nations is basically God demanding human sacrifices. It's just basically nationalistic propaganda for Israel.
