I think you're incorrect about the franking system Jordie, the tax cuts may benefits slightly more well off individuals/retirees however taking into consideration the price of living in this country being a millionaire isn't hugely significant compared to the smaller percentage of incredibly wealthy. I believe the franking system gives young Australians an opportunity to enter the market economy and buy commedities from the higher classes. "Never put your money in the bank, buy the bank."
@gharkun5 жыл бұрын
i like that point mate. especially about buying the bank. i assume you mean investing in commodities? though that can be difficult if you don't really know what you're doing. i find it hard and i studied a little bit of finance as part of my degree. for example i invested in bitcoin in 2011. it promptly did nothing. purely by accident i came into some money through what was described in major news channels as a totally unexpected boom in 2017...

Abolishing franking credits is absolutely immoral. How many times do company profits need to be taxed? I think you'll also find the big retail superannuation funds the average worker contributes to for their super utilise these franking credits to bolster their returns. It will impact everyone including businesses.

Aren't franking credits a return based on the tax their superannuation pays or something. I don't really know, but it doesnt make sense to tax people twice. Idk. Correct me if I'm wrong. :)
@AussieGearReviewer5 жыл бұрын
Yes, franking credits simply offset the tax already paid by the company. Removing franking credits would result in double taxation, the company would pay tax on the profit then the shareholders would have to pay tax again. These share holders are primarily superannuation funds that all working Australians have so this policy of Labors is a terrible terrible idea.
