A big reason why Momo's and Okarun's relationship is so enjoyable to watch and hits a lot of the "RomCom" bits on the head is because the Mangaka, Yukinobu Tatsu, was forced by his Editor to read 100 different Romance/Shoujo Manga to better understand how romance should be displayed.

7:11 Poor Momo her friends and classmates were just teasing her too much!😂 she got too embarrassed and got stubborn about not talking to each other. I understand this is why I didn’t like talking about people I liked in middle school also if I didn’t like anybody my friends and classmates would call me liar and said I was just hiding it. 😅 it was so annoying. Thank goodness in high school I made no friends and they were more chill about this stuff. Just normal and nothing dramatic
