To my knowledge, the arvika isn't a tasmanian pattern, rather a racing axe based on tasmanian patterns. The tassies are pretty fat in the cheeks and the arvika doesn't seem to be. However I am still waiting for my arvika 5 star to arrive in the mail

The Arvika forge closed completely in 1956 , Hults Bruks just bought the ARVIKA name in 1960 and applied it to a HB axe as a model name “Arvika 5 Star” Your axe is a 1970’s permabond handle model

Erik ,Is there a 2.0 by 4 1/2 denoting 2.0 kg on the right side of the axe head ? thanks

Hi Rick, yes, that is correct: on the right side of the axe head, there is a 2 above a line, and below , and below there is 4 1/2 stamped in. So this means 2 kg or 4,5 Pounds .. CheersErik
