Highly recommend Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. It's a rare instance where an adaptation deviates significantly from its source material but they're both still excellent.

Dick’s writing is so important to contemporary sci-fi. His books can be uneven but at his best he’s phenomenal. Really loved The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch and Ubik especially. His short stories are amazing too, and Hollywood scifi since the 80s would barely exist without them.

I maintain this game is deadlier even than Free League's "Alien" game. I watched Slices n Dices playthrough, and in that exact same opening scene, the detective wasn't able to avoid the crit and died horribly. It'll be interesting to see how many starting characters in this playthrough make it to the end. ☠

One of the many great things about 2049 is exactly what Seth pointed out: Humans look like ghouls due to genetic degradation from the high radiation levels on earth. It's a great example of "show, don't tell."
