You only get one bonus +1 for background rolls. No matter how many background rolls you make you can only get the mechanical benefit of one of those Background rolls. Those benefits apply to one of your Derived Attributes. You always start with a 1 in your attributes. Skid would start with a 1 in Fellowship even though it is not listed with the archetype. The difference between Goals and Objectives...Goals are from the Background rolls and gives you a mechanical bonus to one of your derived attributes. Objectives are rolled at the beginning of each session if you accomplish the goal during the session you are awarded with a Wrath Point. Azrael is probably "only" 7 and a half feet tall, but also probably 5 feet wide and weighing in at over 600 pounds of steely muscle, bone and gristle. The DN 3+ Awareness check passed by Britannicus would have resulted in 5 Glory Points! From shifting and from the 6 on the Wrath die!

The Machine-God, AKA. the Omnissiah is just another aspect of the God-Emperor, right?
@Fstwist33932 жыл бұрын
Not quite, they're separate but when the Emperor came to Mars they viewed him as the Omnisiah (i think... Things always change and shift in the lore)
@nekrataali2 жыл бұрын
There's an actual machine god and then the Emperor who claimed to be the manifestation of the machine god to get the Adeptus Mechanicus to sign the Treaty of Mars. Whether or not the Emperor was telling the truth can only be speculated upon. The Omnissiah could also be a Necron Star God, so who knows for sure?

I've heard 40K described, "the 'good' guys are a fascist theocracy who will murder 10 billion people before lunch". I'm still salty that Battlefleet Gothic died out before I had the money to really get into it. Also, find yourself someone who will look at you the way Kate look at those sprues and realized you have to assemble them first THEN paint them.

The good guys are the Tau, people just bend themselves backwards to justify thinking they're somehow worse than the Imperium.
@beningram18113 жыл бұрын
@@MollyGermek There are no "good" guys, but the Tau are in the front row for least bad, for sure. There's an argument to be made for Tyranids and Orcs to be neutral, since they are not acting out of malice, in a similar way to a tiger wouldn't be considered evil. but... mankind are definitely way down the list of least bad.

From Gav Thorpe: "This is Warhammer 40,000 - nobody is as shiny as they first seem! As a bit of an analog for late 20th century / early 21st century western interventionist culture I've always assumed that the Greater Good is ultimately for the benefit of the T'au and if others get something out of that's just a bonus. The fact that they are even willing to work with other species is pretty unique and progressive among the factions of 40K, rather than rampant genocidal, xenophobic armies. The thing about the Great Good is that it is, in the long term, as inflexible and authoritarian as the Imperial Creed or the all-consuming Tyranids. It still comes down to the Greater Good or Death™. I've tried not to make it too sinister being within the T'au sphere, though in the original Apocalypse book I introduced a variety of NATO-style innocuous three-letter-acronym formations, like Mobilized Hunter cadre, Dispersed Retaliation Cadre and Forward Commitment Contingent. None of them say 'battle' or 'war'... I can imagine the news back home is quite a sanitized version of the reality - like when we watched videos of 'smart' bombs and gun cameras blowing up stuff in Iraq but were totally unaware of what was really happening on the ground." T'au are not good. They engage regularly in double-speak and manufactured consent. They have a literal caste system lol...
