Funny thing is, this effectively ended Chandler's first attempt at getting with Monica. Over 1-2 episodes he had been flirting a little bit with her. No indication of serious feeling, but he *had* been flirting. But after this, Monica shuts him down as "You will always be the guy who peed on me" Fortunately for for Chandler, she clearly forgot about all of it after a while!

I was kind of surprised and disappointed that neither Ross, Rachel, nor Phoebe reacted to the initial news that Monica had been stung by a jellyfish. That can be incredibly painful. They didn't react to Monica mentioning how much pain she had endured before Joey remembered this 'remedy' from The Discovery Channel. Yes, Monica is clearly okay, but I would have expected some sympathy a bit earlier in the conversation. Joey's gotten more comfort when he's lost a sandwich.

One of the biggest problems of the friends is how little they can stand laughing at themselves. They’re so mean to each other but they can’t take anything directed at themselves. The thought of doing something a little embarrassing in a crisis (which, I think might be a myth that that’s what you’d do) is so humiliating to them that they spend however long suffering from guilt. It’s a funny story, laugh about it. If that were my group of friends we’d do a little bit of ribbing but move on quickly
