Gr8 video on the 991.1 common fixes...so wondering your trials to fix the engine fault are charged to the customer, no free dinners. Although not the issue you can say preventative like the, air filters, throttle body, labor it all adds up.

One of your best videos Luke! I love seeing these where you get down to the nitty gritty. I love the way Ollie shows off his skill and turns around and gives his great smile for the camera. My mercedes windscreen washer system is inside the hood like that one and it is a pain to keep functioning. The plastic tees and elbows fit over the inlet to the washer nozzles and loose their grip and seal so the water doesn't make it through the nozzle. Use a needle to clean out the nozzles. They get hard water deposits in them from people using tap water in them. They do not need to be replaced. Those headers could stand powdercoating or ceramic coating to keep them from rusting especially in your wet climate. Cheers and happy new year!

Changeover valves and dynamic engine mounts are a very common failure point in 991.1’s. Also the air oil separator.

Hello BELLA STAFFY PEARMA Pearman. Removing the rear bumper to gain access to remove the air box is not part of our inspection. Nor is it part of any independent inspection that’s ever been carried out on our cars by third party companies for our clients. We of course inspect the service history, and if the major service interval is due, we complete it as part of our sales preparation process, which includes renewal of the air filters. The 991 in this video wasn’t due a major interval. This 991 Carrera S sold for £59,997. I hope this helps. BR Luke FGP

The washer jet issue is a silly design fault. They’ve used a brittle plastic which suffers stress each time you open the boot lid. My 2017 991.2 suffered this failure after 24 months and 12,000 miles.

A future common fault coming your way. Coolant pipes were a major problem on the 997/987, steel locking collar on the rubber coolant pipes from the radiator reacts to the central aluminium crossover pipes which feed the 2 radiators and recently caused a substantial leak on mine. Do you know what Porsche did to sort out the problem on the 991/981? - nothing! There's nothing you can do except replace them. Front subframe needs to be removed and it's mad not to replace all the pipes while there. Afterwards an alignment is required, looking at £1500 (plus trailer recovery due to lack of coolant) just for a known problem causing a leaking pipe, this will start to occur when the car is around 10 years old. In four years of ownership, my car has only needed the washer pipe replacing plus the sports exhaust solenoid and a perished aircon O ring causing a leak - so not bad.
