3. Have you found value in partnering with other youth ministries or youth pastors in your area? If so, what are some ways that you've been able to do that? If not, what have been the barriers to partnering with others in youth ministry?
4. Are there things that are keeping you from wanting community or partnership with others?
5. How do we center our ministry relationships around Christ? Clark mentioned that having people to confess things to is a place to help have a gospel-centered relationship. Are there people in your life that you can confess to? What might it look like to have a practice of confession be a part of your relationships?
6. What encouragement have you found in your relationships with others? Take time to share ways that you've seen partnership benefit your own life and the kingdom.
Speakers
Clark Fobes: Clark is the Associate Pastor at First Baptist Church SF, and has served in Youth Ministry in the Asian-American context for over a decade. He received his M.Div. from Talbot Theological School in Southern California, and is a Doctor of Missiology (D.Miss) candidate at Southern Seminary (SBTS). He is also an emeritus member of Rooted’s Steering Committee. He and his wife, Janet, have two daughters, Kara and Nora.
David Brashler: David Brashler has served since 2007 as the Youth Pastor at Living Water Church in Vancouver, Washington. In 2017 his role expanded to include Families and children. He holds a Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering from Oregon State University and is currently pursuing an M.Div from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Josh Hussung: Josh Hussung is the Pastor of Youth and Families at Grace Community Church in Nashville, Tennessee, and has been in youth ministry for over 16 years. He holds an Mdiv in Pastor Studies from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. In addition to writing for Rooted, Josh has also been featured on ERLC.com. Follow him on Twitter @joshhussung.
At Rooted, we have a heart for children to develop faith in Jesus Christ that lasts. The most influential factor in determining whether a child will attend church as an adult is an accurate understanding of the Gospel- God’s unconditional love for sinners through Jesus Christ. Therefore, we are equipping leaders and parents throughout the country to practice gospel-centered youth ministry in the church. We long for every child to hear the gospel of grace, be taught the word of God, be mentored and discipled, and be prayed over and for- through their church and at home each week. This KZbin channel is filled with clips from each facet of our ministry.
Becca Heck: Becca Heck is a veteran youth worker based in Atlanta, GA. She has served on the steering committee of Rooted Ministry and is currently working on her MDiv at Reformed Theological Seminary in Atlanta. In between classes she is a part of the Anago Partnership Co-hort in Atlanta, upskilling pastors to lead flourishing churches. You can find her on the weekends teaching at various trainings, conferences, and retreats.
