I call this piano music session ‘Friendships’ and invite you to briefly reflect with us on the idea. What comes to mind when I think about friendships:
Something you can’t buy.
Something you can’t force.
Something you can’t fake.
They don't grow on trees.
But they often grow with time.
There’s no hack or shortcut to a beautiful one.
Life provides when you’re open to it.
Something to do with love? But not single-sided.
Is it based on mutual respect?
For a topic, for a skill, a lifestyle, values, each other?
Give freely, receive freely, protect.
To be oneself. Both sides.
To understand. To feel understood.
Share real thoughts and feelings.
A friend is there for you, you’re there for him/it/her.
You are aware of your and the other’s energy reservoir and flow.
Some come and go. It’s Ok.
Some are there to stay.
...maybe add what’s missing or one or two of your thoughts if you like.

*I’m Michael and I love creating music. I play, compose and record mostly calm and peaceful tunes and share these here on the relaxdaily KZbin channel since 2011.
Music can be much more than just pure entertainment. It can be a meaningful soundtrack that accompanies us through a moment, through a day, a phase, or through life.
Many use my recordings and piano music sessions as background music while reading, doing mind work, to achieve better focus, while studying, while being creative, while coding or designing a product, a service, or the world of tomorrow. From your comments, I know that my music also works as relaxing music (also stress relief, depression or anxiety-dissolving music), spa or yoga music, or to set a calm tone at cafes, bars, lounges, in hotels and restaurants, mostly at a low volume.
This project is not as much about a genre as it is about a feeling. A way of life. With my tunes, I try to take a little heat and speed of our generally quite busy lives. A soundtrack for you, when you feel the need for a calm and peaceful, light and positive tune, the relaxdaily way.

Oh dear Michael and yes we all need friends! Some comes for a short time and some come for life. They are very special and rare. I had a very good friend and I lost her but she was like a older sister to me, we could talk about everything and i mean really everything she was a good friend to both me as well as my family...we loved her! She had lung- and bonecancer but died of a couple of brain hemorrhages. I found her in bed one morning ( she had a stroke during the night ) and I had to call the ambulance...it was heartbreaking! She got sick on a Thursday and died the following Monday. My dear friend was all alone in the world...no family or siblings! Life gives and takes but she will live on in our hearts forever! Thank you so very much for the very nice and relaxing music dear Michael, hugs Susanne. 👋😊🥰❤🤗🌷🦋

well, sometimes circumstances create situations where we don't have a lot of friends. Perhaps we've moved, or our closest friends passed away. These things happen, and if a person had to choose between no friends and unkind people, then no friends would be better. I guess one doesn't need friends all the time. However, ideally we have some kind, loving and supportive people we can call friends. If we cannot find those people, then we treat ourselves well and get to know ourselves as a very good friend. Sometimes, when we are working on ourselves and just loving ourselves, eventually new friends will find their way into our lives. For me, I moved. Though, the Buddha said, he is "always here, always here" as he said, "sometimes you won't see me, even when close by" (Lotus Sutra). So, while I am temporarily far from friends, I have myself and my faith, and this space is allowing me to get to know myself on a deeper and more profound level, and in that I have found a tranquility and happiness I didn't know at this level when I was surrounded by friends.

A rainy day in the mountains of Montenegro. I have taken a train up north to Niksic from Bar which is on the Adriatic Sea. As the rain patters outside the window of my room , I'm trying to decide if I should stay another night. I was nearly stressing about it and this trip was suppose to be removing some stress. I grew up playing the piano. It took me a long time to memorize even a 5 minute song. Yet you write the song, you memorize the song, you play the song, that's over an hour long. How in the world.... you have incredible talent, no doubt honed over many years. In any case, so peaceful, it calms my heart, thanks for your music.

I‘m happy when you enjoy the music. My approach to playing and creating music is a different one. My memory is actually not that good. What I do with these sessions, I’d call it free play. It happens in the moment. Requires way less energy than to memorize the whole thing, something, I’m not capable of. For me it’s about the music, what it does, how it feels, its effect, more than how others would call the process.

Have to add that I am very happy, that You write to us. That make me feel friends with You though we have not Met ever ! A bit like when we in my generation( no intern et as youngsters) used to have penpalls - I had one in Japan and I often think of her and the daft thing I did, just forgetting her because of all the cilly things one find joy in being a teenager ! I like your comparison of writing by hand and playing music, Annabella ☺️ Yes, the computer has been invented to accelerate things. Its heart (CPU) is pacing at a few billions per second. It has brought new ways of working and living for many. Also good things. Like, we can get in touch with people we care for more easily. Creatives can use it in beautiful way (recording music, making movies, …) The art might be in balancing how and how much we want/need to use it to reach our goals/be healthy and happy. Depends on how you define a friend ~ It ranges from clicking with a random stranger to deep intimacy with a loved one you've known for a long time. However, unless there is a certain level of honesty and transparency, to begin with, there can be no friendship. So yes, humans need an outlet but it can be burdensome if you do not connect well. All these 'ship' ending scenarios have the same attached condition ... it's relative in nature hence requires two to tango. B' ful music btw, fit for a bubble bath - no friends required.

We wouldn't get very far in life without friends. Whether a few or many - we all need at least 1 friend even if we feel that we don't. Eventually, we need others. So I hope that all can find someone with whom to share their life. I don't want to share too many details, but for anyone out there who is helping friends overcome things like borderline personality disorder (often caused by childhood abuse), thank you and please don't give up! I've helped a few friends with that issue. I know it's hard to continue being friends when the going gets tough due to the abuse they experienced, but if you can hold on and continue showing them unconditional love, you can literally save their life. Thank you for your music and your deep thoughts, Michael. You help so many through your beautiful music and care. Wishes for a lovely weekend!!

I believe I’m about average with friendships, Valery. Different phases in life. In some phases I was very focussed on my self, not participating in friendships and relationships that much. Sometimes I meet really beautiful people (especially from within), but that’s no guarantee for a friendship, as it’s not one if only one side thinks highly of the other one. And then I try to be a good friend myself when I get the opportunity with a person I respect, probably like most of us do. It’s a beautiful phenomenon, and it was time to reflect upon it a little.
