The band usually plays well known classic anime theme songs. That they chose to do the ED for "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" says a lot about how good this story is.

@@unholynexus I agree. One of the best ever (and I had no expectations for it at all). The dry humor and dead-pan humor kills me as much as the heart-wrenching emotional scenes.

フリーレンは師弟の絆を語り、短命な人間の儚さと引き継がれる心を描いている。自衛隊の中にも師弟の絆があり、国防のために散っていった英霊たちの心が引き継がれている。選曲は完璧であり、魂が込められた歌唱力で全てのシーンが思い返される。

Was just reading the English translation of the lyrics. The song is really beautiful, in every sense, and so fitting. I don't know how the anime will end, but the closing credits in the second half of season one have Frieren lying her head on Fern's lap. It foreshadows the day when Fern, like every human before her, will die and leave Frieren.

やっぱり自衛隊の楽団ってスゲェな。演奏は勿論だけどボーカルに加えバックコーラスまでちゃんと入ってるとはねまた自衛隊が敢えて"葬送のフリーレン"から曲を持ってくる意味よ…殉職した同僚を見送る事の多い職種だけにね…

真好聽!!! 歌手本身已經很厲害了，在副歌時候的和聲搭配，讓整體層次更往上!! 而且歌手很有自己的風格呀!!

The 2nd opening is best for me. Side note, word on the street is that grave Freiren is visiting at the end of this 2nd ending is Fern. Her english parts are good enough.

「だからもう一度生まれ変わろうともまた私はここを選ぶだろう」と言う歌詞の通りこの方達はこの先どんな事があろうとも誰かを守るために戦い続けるって誓いを歌ってるように感じました。国を守ってくれる貴方達が歌うからこそ心に響くものがありますね！本当にありがとうございます！！

うちの近所に陸自の音楽隊の指揮者の人がいたな。娘さんが妹と同級生なんで良く家にきてたっけ。多分音大出身で幹部（士官）だったんだろうなー。

Seems like there is a tranlating difficulties in the subtitle at 01:01 The lyric goes: ほらこの目じゃなければ見えなかったものがどうして溢れてく (Hora, kono mejanakereba mienakatta mono ga doushite afureteku) It means: "Look, things that could only be seen with these eyes, why are they overflowing...?"
