Woo! Made it in time for this one. I’m surprised you picked this one up so quickly, I had seen a lot about it and got interested in the series. Hopefully one day I’ll muster the courage to watch it, since it’s too hard for my ass to pick up an anime and watch it… Anyways, great video as always. Everything you’ve been recently pumping out has been good, but there’s room to improve! You’ll eventually get there, and I can’t wait! I’ll be waiting here, as you know, for the next one.

The anime is heavy af at times, I'm a very stoic guy and even my heart strings were pulled and I had to hold back tears. Amazing anime, they dropped 4 episodes right off the bat and a fifth is out now

Definitely! Since Frieren never had Elves around her, she certainly became more apathetic as more and more people started dying around her, and seeing whole civilizations rise and fall would increase that feeling even more

frieren beyond journey's end is one of the most beautiful, pure, and realistic(kinda) anime to ever have been made.

even the name of this anime can convey what it has to offer us. "Beyond Journey's End" While most fantasy animes are about DEFEATING the demon king and it ends right after that we have no idea of knowing what happens to the memories of those journeys left behind. Who's gonna carry on those memories? This anime exactly portrays this very situatipm beautifully.

I couldnt believe that there was a story that could match Mushoku Tensei's fantasy adventure. And now I stand corrected. I blasted through 10 episodes in 1 sitting and I loved every second of it. Frieren is a gem and now tied as with Mushoku Tensei for my #1 fantasy story

Excellent review and analysis. Having read all the ENG Manga of Frieren, and now with EP 6 locked down, our little adventurers team of Frieren, Fern, and Stark, cross the barrier, and enter the very dangerous Northern lands where very powerful demons still roam. This is the end of the Prologue, and now the story starts in earnest as Frieren begins to learn about some very interesting characters as she searches for Himmel's soul.

(loved episode 6 to bits) I've read volume 3 recently and can't wait to see how they'll adapt certain scenes with my very eyes. Though I probably won't go much further to experience the anime's story for the first time x)

Great Review! Heres a sub! I like the way you intersperse your voiceover with the fully voiced scenes and editing is good! I love all the tiny moments in Frieren. I love how there is a timeline related to Himmel the Hero "28 years after the death of Himmel the Hero" and it gives you the location of where they are more or less. The magic and setting of the world reminded me of Octopath Traveler which is a video game series I really love. ALSO I too lovef Kino's Journey...I totally forgot how similar the protagonists were and both were journey women. Its been a great watch so far!

@@Nostalgik I put it on hold then was reading it again for some reason i wanted to praise it. For some reason i like it more then any of the new shounen shows. Also Frieren made me laugh way too many time there is a joke with the illusion guy in 1st class mage selection i called it but still made me laugh out loud because if i was in hit situation i would do the same. It also made me teary. Like if anime is good i watch the anime then continue reading manga it's like one of the highest praise any manga can get from me if i am being honest.

@@Nostalgik I'd describe it as a character piece, yes there's goofiness for those who prefer that, but the slow reveal of what exactly is going on with Helck, and Vermilio's growing understanding of him, along with some excellent dramatic moments are what I'm there for.

Being disinterested, calm, amused (with mundane things), carefree, unattached, stoic but also humble, not standing out, kindhearted as a grandmother and dignified as a king is how the supreme state of Tao and Zen masters are usually described. It's humans who generally like to make a big fuss about everything. The author must have deep knowledge of the Tao Te Ching

I see this anime as a good example of Elves in anime genre, while degenerates just see them sexy, they went too far and oversexualizes the concept of elves as a whole

This WAS truly special and could have become one of the goats. But for me, around episode 5 it starts to become more and more like a generic anime and falls flat for me. But the first 4 episodes were truly amazing.

Interesting! Did you watch until episode 10? I've just finished the script for my next video where I'll cover why the arc with the Demons made this even more special. Beyond the animation being brilliant I really love how the story delivers so many messages with such simple-looking situations

@@Nostalgik yes, I watched all episodes. But I couldn't help but feel, halfway through, they started to ticking off boxes of the usual anime jokes, fights, overexaggerations and crammed it in. Maybe I was just disappointed because I expected the show to go another way and explore the themes further while staying similar atmosphere wise. But I am interested in your take, will watch your video.

Sorry don't know if you mean whether I see them in the same way or not(?) But in that sense, they are very similar, Fern was mostly raised by Frieren so it makes sense. Fern just will never live as long as Frieren has, so her appreciation of time will always be different... I'm gonna be talking more about Fern and Stark in my next Frieren video ^^

@@Nostalgik That is true Evan Call is so spot-on, especially in his background music which understands the scene it backs. But Frieren and Violet also cross swords thematically, both characters have a problem with feelings and are searching for answers to a question of feels. Violet finds her answer, and for Frieren, it seems to be dawning on her as the Sun comes up on the horizon and she smiles because Fern is smiling.
