Friesian Grand Prix Dressage Horse!

Dressage is supposed to awesome for every type of horse, however, we rarely see a deviation away from warmbloods in the Grand Prix. That is why I am always super excited and fangirling when I get to see a horse that is a bit unconventional make it to the top.
While the Friesian horse is famous for being in movies and most recently being owned by the Kardashians, it is less common to see them in the Grand Prix.

I almost like them better than the modern dressage warmblood. At least here, we still have proper movement through the body. Not just extreme front end action, arched backs, and hind ends lagging somewhere behind. This still looks harmonious too. So many dressage horses these days have such horribly stressed expression on their faces. It all looks forced.

( using husband's YT account ) Well done ! Thanks for sharing ! It is refreshing & encouraging to see other breeds at all levels of dressage . There are Arabians & QH's ( breeds I love & have shown in other disciplines ) doing great at higher levels too .

I’m wondering if this is the same Frie that was spicy in the warm up ring video of a few weeks ago...(?) if so, I guess they are the type of horse that simply prefers having the stage all to themselves... because this was really lovely ( and the horse looked fully in control of their emotions). Thanks for sharing

Too much tension but is capable of all the movements. Time will help , they don't look like a breed that is easy to ride. Needs a very tactful sympathetic rider.

This breed are good for beginners and very calm! And for me is very comfortable to seat them, especially canter

I think they are fairly easy with a lot of try but can sometimes be harder to get them to use their body correctly.

This is not a GP horse...I'm sorry, this is a nice horse and rider but I do not think this horse belongs at this level at all...not even close.
