I'm usually skeptical about an animal's new home. You can't too sure if the owner will care for the horse. Sorry I read Black Beauty a lot and it does show light on the ugly side of humans who mistreatment horses.

I have never known a Friesian breeder who didn't thoroughly screen potential buyers. If all breeders took care of their animals the way these people do, the world would be a much better place.

Bauke in Moscow now. I am his owner. He came 10 days ago. He is in carantine for the moment. He will stay there one week more. That’s rules. 😢We take care for him. Eating well. We grooming him. Working from the first day with pleasure. Thank You for the fantastic, friendly horse. I love him from the first view.

Happy healthy horses are a joyous spectacle for sure! Lovely that they have all the energy in the world and never seem to get puffed. As I watched them cavort I wanted to see their natural lead changes. I have previously noted that Friesians are comfortable on crossed leads. I noted with these youngsters, that they also were happy to stay on a dominant hind lead while changing the fore for the turn then changing the fore back to the dominant lead. I note this more often seems to be the left lead. It shows how much thought the horse puts into its proposed movement plan and how quickly it is thinking. It's interesting how breeds are different in these natural capacities. Some trainers might see it as bad form when a horse doesn't change both fore and hind, but I just see it as training one part of the body and mind before another part. Many people might just train for the fore lead change and expect the behind to automatically change. Whereas the hind lead should be trained for first and the horse will change the fore lead itself. So a horse that stays on a dominant lead behind won't do it under saddle if the hind lead is trained for instead of the fore lead. It's just a different pattern.

This is a very sweet and funny video. They are both beautiful horses. I especially love Bauke. That face he makes really makes me laugh. He seems like such a happy horse and like he doesn't want to grow up yet. But that's alright, I don't much like getting old myself. I wish I could run and jump like he is able to. @@katherinepoletto7875 Kat, I've seen them perform in Venice. And I watched the Disney movie about how Douglas MacCarthur help rescue the lippazaner mares. I love watching the HAUTE ECOLE movements. My first riding instructor had been trained by one of the head instructors.

@Runner Girl Pardon me. But I'm tired, and have a cold. So forgive me for translating the Italian to English incorrectly. Right now I'm sleeping in a barn, being a Duala to 4 mares that were in foal. 3 have foaled. 2 Warmblood Fillies, And a Warmblood cross Colt. I have 1 mare left to foal out and this part of my season is over. Then I go back to teaching, Level 3 Certified Coach by FEI., and I start training and Backing 3 horses. 2 mares and 1 stud, which 4 yrs ago I helped bring into this world. So, again, forgive me my error. As I'm tired, because the last 2 born, a filly and the colt, momma needed a bit of help with. So many Blessings to you for a wonderful week, while I pray the last mare goes early. Not likely, as she has always foaled on the predicted date. So 2 to 3 weeks for her. Plus, I'm the only one who handles the mares and foals. And ground work and manners start now. 5 minute sessions is all their brain can handle. So between mucking out the other 31 stalls, plus the four in with me, that makes 35 stalls to muck out, feed and hay every morning, before I go home and sleep. And I'm at the barn now. The mare has 2 monitors on her. A magnet one and a belly strap one. Just like in humans the belly one monitors the length of contraction and strength of contraction. The magnetic one let's go and screeches like a banshee when her cervix dilates. Usually by then I'm at the stall door. I don't know how old you are, but please don't make assumptions of someone's knowledge by a silly error without maybe finding out why that error was made. @Runner Girl I'm 54 yrs young and have been around horses since I was 3 yrs old and riding horses since I was 5. My instructor was trained by Alois Podhajsky. So I know horses. And I have backed and started many horses in my years here on earth. I'm always learning. Your getting on my case over a simple mistake that could have been handled a lot more maturely than you did. I'm going to try and get a snooze in before my 3 am check. So have a great week. As far as I'm concerned, this conversation is over.

@@sheenagh2012 - You don't need to ride. Hitch him/her up to a cart and give your neighbors a thrill. If your age is a factor at all, I'd say it's the upkeep. Friesians need a lot of fussy care, although I guess you could hire help for that.
