HM Queen Uniek truly is a one of a kind one in a million mare!! Her quiet gentleness with everyone around her is beautiful to watch in action however it’s even more tearjerking when it comes to the smallest members of her human herd,we really see the mem in her out full force with her boys.She 💯 knows/understands that slow and steady is what’s needed that she can’t go full on freight train as she enjoys with Yvonne precious cargo is on her back and she’ll do everything to make sure they are safe. This scene is one of many reasons why I will always love these precious black labs of the horse world they really are the equine of the people nothing makes them happier than being with and doing for their humans.🥹🖤🐎

Yes this was a teary one for me brought back memories of my grandson riding my big black Percheron cross “Midnight” he had that same gentle giant nature when it came to me & any children. My grandson could do anything with him. Not the same with my 20+yo daughter, he was naughty with her & decided it was time to have a canter!! lol 😂 she came off him a few times but when I was on him it was like he knew mum has a lot of pain & I could only ride for about 30mins. He would stand beautifully whilst I used a big step to get on him, he would lean in to help me on & he knew not to move. He would then straighten up & let me get comfortable Sadly I lost him last October in a tragic accident! 😢 I think that is why I enjoy watching Yvonne’s video’s as my bond with him was very much like Yvonne & Uniek’s bond. That unicorn that only comes along once in a lifetime! 🥰🥰

There's something about Unieks body language when the little humans are on/near her. A certain...focus and awareness...as if she knows she's in care of the most important packages in the world. A very motherly energy i suppose. I see it in her eyes and especially with her ears. She's definitely aware.

Uniek is such a special mare! She is so patient with the boys. I’d say Rein is off to a good start for loving horses. The fact he’s even interested in riding, when he could be off building bricks with his brother, speaks volumes. Can’t believe how much of a stud Saly’s little Wūnder is … hopefully the mares will teach him some manners! He can be quite the nuisance … too bad he couldn’t be off in another pasture, separated from the mares in heat. What will you do once he gets older and out of sheer necessity, have to separate him? Tough decisions when limited with space … I guess he could always be pastured with the other colts over at Stahl G. I noticed Rein likes to keep at least three colts pastured together, once they’re weaned. Bjarni is so cute!

Yes boys will be boys🙄 until they learn their manners! 🙂 Its so amazing how peaceful watching the Friesian herd is! There are no histrionics or craziness with these beautiful horses. Unless you’ve got 2 or 3 young Friesian stallions playing ‘catch me if you can’! Or sometimes a bit of excitement if somebody new shows up to join the herd…or someone gets an idea of being queen for a day! Or 😄 (we know there’s only one true Queen!) Or a brash young male jumps the wire and creates a bit of anxiety among the moms! These magnificent horses are just so calm and easy going. Even the mature stallions! Matilde did a wonderful job of riding Bjarni….and he was quite awesome himself! Goedzo on training the boys. This is now one of my favorite videos! How lovely it is to see Yvonne’s young sons learning to ride on 👑Uniek! What a patient, intelligent, kind & well-trained horse she is! We’ve seen her with several youngsters through the years and she never moves so much as a hoof around children. She goes into and stays still as a statue! The boys also have such a wonderful, experienced mem to teach them! I’m so glad Yvonne was able to buy Uniek from Boss Rein about 3 years ago! Matilda and Bjarni did great! They will learn & grow together as a team. Bauke is becoming a “horse man,” too! How nice it was to see him learning carriage work in an earlier video. What a fun privilege these beautiful children are blessed with. How I longed to ride a horse when I was little (the opportunity would come during family vacations). We had to pay $$ for what these children get to experience every day. It’s wonderful.

Bjarni quickly became one of my favorites once you started showing him in your videos. I think he and Mathilde are doing wonderful together. It was so sweet to see your boys riding Uniek. She is so gentle and easy going with them.

Uniek is brilliant with the boys, she is so calm and tolerant. Can we say that Wunder is getting ahead of himself, lol? Once Bjarnigets used to being ridden and learns the commands he would be a good ride for the boys.❤❤

I rode as a teenager..I loved it..tried my 2 girls but you either fall in love with 🐎🐎 or not and they didn't 😢but my niece did and she is a brilliant rider and 🐎 lover❤🇬🇧

Mathilde, great job on Bjarni, you both did great with the first time being off the lunge. I didn't realize Icelandic horses have to be taught to do their specialized tolt and pace, that will be interesting to see! Thanks again Mathilde for letting us observe!
