Sometimes it will happen. But not with this mares. Stallions are more dominant. Than it can happen.

I love seeing the pair work in tandem. They are so in tune with each other and their driver. I didn't know the purpose of the blinders. It makes sense now. The difference in the sound of their hoof beats when they're trotting synchronized instead of individually is striking. That rhythm emphasizes the power and beauty of these well matched Friesians. I'm sure it takes an experienced driver to handle them so well.

I remember my grandparents had some work horse, i spend summers there and i liked to play around and they often shouting: don't go near horse, he will kick you XD granddad loved horses a lot. they had more various animals too. I missing those times

Is it okay for their hooves to trot on pavement? I thought it was only walking and the rest of the gaits are better performed on soft ground

Yes, it's okay. If you do it all day I think it's not good. But we only do it for a couple of minutes.

Sjirkje seems to me to be a trifle smaller in the hind than Elsje but they work well together and are beautiful to watch. It's soothing to listen to the clop clop of their hooves.💜

Thank you for sharing this wonderful video of the well matched pair in front of the buggy. At Pennsylvania Farm Show, in the U.S., they hold draft horse competitions using 2, 4, and sometimes 6 horse hitches in front of replicated old-time delivery wagons. So much fun to watch, and they are judged by how they are handled by the driver and how they work together as a team.
