I love how well thought out planet Namek is, the fact there are 3 suns (technically stars, because our star is just called the sun) and no nighttime and the fact that namekians don't eat because they evolved to photosynthesise which makes perfect sense that animals would evolve to act like plants when there's so much sunlight

I love both this Frieza and the real Frieza, the abridged one is funny, but when he gets serious, he's scary, while original Frieza is charming, but even through his charm, he's still intimidating, because you know that he can drop the act whenever feels like he wants to, and both sides will murder you, they both work so well

7:23 - It's not a line from the show. Many fans of the franchise consider Goku to be a terrible father, because he's barely around and when he IS around, all he does is train with his kids. So TFS put this dialogue into the show to reference that. It gets better in the Cell Saga when they parody Evangelion.

If you think about it he never was really a bad dad though. he did have legit reasons to train. After Gohan was born Goku was basically there until the Saiyan saga started and that lasted until the end of the Frieza saga. True him not wanting to come back to earth right away was kind of a selfish move but Gohan seemed to understand, and I'm using the manga and anime as reference. Then after he did get back they had to prepare for the androids and even if it was training he was still there and spending time with Gohan. Then him wanting to stay dead after Cell, again could be seen as a selfish move but his reasoning was actually sound, I mean Radditz first came to earth because of him, Frieza came to earth because of him, and the androids and Cell were indirectly created because of him

Fun fact for dragon ball evolution piccolo was PALE white (that is the references to albino namekians) and when images went online the fan reception was so bad that they digitally altered his color unfortunately unlike sonic it didn't save the movie.

Bit of clarification from the original DBZ - the reason they tried to sneak off with the Wish is because at this point in time, they thought the Namekian Dragonballs would only grant a single wish like the Earth's Dragonballs, so they thought if they woke Vegeta, the Wish would be used on his immortality and their friends would stay dead.

Well, in the original anime, he only tears off Nail's arm *once* ...but yeah, that happened. "Did time pass faster on Namek?" Nah. That's a joke about just how *long* this whole arc took on TV. Remember, this abridgment chucks out like 75-80% of the actual episodes - it was 30 half-hour episodes long (okay, 24 minute episodes, still) *just* to get Goku *to* Namek, another 8 to get to this point...and DBZA did that in 14 that averaged around 10-12 minutes. So when you were watching this on TV...yeah, it *did* take about a year to cover this "week," especially since in America, they kept stopping halfway through the saga and going back to the beginning.

Couple things: 1) So about the opening disclaimer read you've been enjoying. Ever notice how it seems like whenever a character does the opening read they seem to... die in that episode...? Hmm, that's weird... 2) So you played Kakarot and already know a lot of the big story moments, so you know that Frieza dies and Perfect Cell is a character and dies. Well, after episode 60 concludes (end of the Cell Saga) TFS has started making little shorts that are entirely original and not based on the show. The series is called HFIL (Home For Infinite Losers), and covers Cell meeting the Ginyu Force, Frieza, and Radtiz and what happens when all of these characters meet and interact with eachother. So if you loved the Ginyu Force, don't worry, this is not the last time you'll see them around, and the HFIL series is ongoing atm. 3) The joke about it only being six days even though it's felt like a year is referencing A) TFS taking a year to make these episodes and B) the original run also taking forever to get through Namik even though the actual time they spent there isn't all that much.

I believe Vegeta's hair (at least in the anime) is supposed to be brown. It's just very, very dark after his first couple appearances, and for that reason is usually colored as black. However, it can sometimes be distinguished as brown during certain shots with a lot of intense light. But even that tends to be a bit inconsistent.

I love abridged, it really got its feet on the ground in this second season, I really wish they finish the Buu saga to wrap things up. They started where Z did like most of us in America started the show, only feels right to me and I'd think anything they do even if it doesn't live up to the previous seasons would still be worth it and better quality than the first season at least. I think they'd still knock it out of the park personally. They are amazing and have brought a ton of joy to my life. I'm not sure I'd still hold dragon ball as close as I do today without them.
