I fucking love Scott. I’m a normal cunt from a average as shit village in Scotland. His words mean more to me than any other lyricist, than any poet or writer. I don’t fawn after people because they are popular nor do I put the dead on a pedestal. I was very aware of his excellence when he was here. Since he’s been gone his words do hit harder, but his face, his talent and passion when he sang pretty much anything were all so genuine and ever so meaningful. Shite that he didn’t want to be here anymore world is worse without him. Missed and admired every time I dare to feel sad enough to enjoy a video, a blink into a past that I never appreciated at the time. To all who have lost and to all who are in pain I hope kindness finds you, to all those in pain I hope you see clarity and find the love you need to get you through the hard days.

Just a word our kid. I'm quite sure your village wherever it is, is not "shit". No village is. It might be now from your perspective, but change that. It's in your gift, look at the good things, and I know there must be many, so embrace it pal, be positive.

Doesn't matter how successful, beloved, good-looking, or together you think someone's life is, we all carry profound pain and walk around with exposed wounds. Please try to remember that in your daily interactions with others, especially these days. ... This one stung a lot. Hoping Scott found whatever peace is available to us after this life.

Such a horrible feeling to discover a singer this beautiful and then go to the comments and see all the remembrances. Normally it takes a while for me to be able to appreciate an artist's work, but this hit me like a truck the first time I heard it. I can't wait to explore more of this man's work. "...Apart from the ring of the tinnitus of silence" I once had to step into a cloistered room at a funeral home and confirm the identity of my beloved older sister, Carla, after a tragedy befell her, and Scott's line above from "Death Dream" just now slammed into my brain and resurrected one of the most powerful memories of that frozen Idaho night. The tinnitus of silence was so very loud in that room. The high, keening sound of nothing at all was deafening. Scott was an amazing lyricist. What a huge loss to the world.
@mattyfox70003 жыл бұрын
i am sorry for your loss of Carla. Families are eternal. i lost my dad in my arms. it was a "wrongful death". he dies in my arms every night..every night I try another thing but cannot save him. i do this every night. i love this song and Scott...it helped. hugs to you.

Since 2003, Scott painted us vivid pictures of what was going on in his head. His stories reach into your chest with claws and grab on. Gently. Scott didn't use invisible ink in life. His words have always hurt with fury and the guitars, sometimes gentle, other times forceful, looped his words around the atmosphere permanently etching themselves in the listeners skin. The question I ask myself 4yrs later is this - Is it hard to listen because in some way it feels as if we are Voyers listening to a tragedy? Perhaps it was not avoidable. Perhaps all the signs were in our headphones. Either way - I’m a Frightened Rabbit like the rest of you, right there walking hand-in-hand with Scott.

Masterpiece of a performance. This song is disturbing, but so brutally honest. It creates a beautiful mixture that brings tears to your eyes either thinking about those you’ve lost, or friends who have lost loved ones, or the thoughts we all suffer from time to time. Unfortunately a lot of us give into the darkness even with an amazing support system. Depression, and anxiety are very real. Always remember to love people in your life and treat everyone with respect dignity.
