Hey thanks so much for this video. KZbin comes through again and saves me money by teaching me a DYI repair. For my dryer I had to replace the control board as the error wouldn't go away even after freeing up the button. The challenge was procuring of the replacement board. I found one on Ebay, and voila! Repair completed in 30 minutes and for less than $90!

Your info was exactly what I needed. One of my buttons was just a little bit wedged. You saved me from buying a new circuit board. Visually, I did not notice the button issue. Once I had the error that brought me to your video. Followed your instructions and found my dry button slightly wedged. I pressed it and it went back to normal. Awesome!

Thank you so much! I really can't thank you enough. My dryer has been beeping for 2 years but in the past month has been non-stop. I thought I needed a new dryer but found out that the new dryers would not fit on top of our washer...so we were looking at both a washer and dryer... both just 10 years old! I was distraught. Our only option was a new control panel or trying your solution. None of the buttons seemed to be stuck but I thought I would just do the troubleshooting that you suggested. All the buttons turned out to be OK. So, after I did the troubleshooting I turned the dryer off and then back on and the beeping stopped. I don't know why but I am so grateful for your video. Thank you so much.

Had this error code and followed this very detailed & well done video. Unfortunately, it looks like other issues can cause this error code, as I did the troubleshooting and got the button that was the issue but I tested all buttons on the circuit board and they operate correctly. DId this by doing a continuity test on each when pressed/not pressed. Ordered a replacement board. Appreciate the video. Very helpful on testing & disassembly.

You cannot take everything at face value, I work on a Frigidaire dryer that gave me a E68 error but the problem was not the control board, it was one of the thermal cutouts for the heating elements.

I have Frigidaire Dryer Gallery Series, It looks like the same model you are showing in the video. Model #GLEQ2152EE. I have flashing Lights on the Dash Board Under the Timer Display. No other lights are flashing. But the Lights that are under the Dryness button moves on it own from top to bottom and back. I have no error code on the machine so I'm not sure what I'm looking for. When I hit the start or cancel button the machine acts as it will start working properly. When I hit the Start button to start a load to dry, it will start for a few second and then stop. While it is turning I can see inside of the machine and see the heat is on, but then it stops and Then the lights will start flashing again and the machine will stop. But the lights just keep flashing...

Bill, have you ever BYPASSED the wiring for the lights that are not working...For instance on mine, the 3 lights with press saver isn't responding...Those lights don't get adjusted much....Already tried your steps and even sprayed the front and back button that wasn't responding(although was clicking on the back) with wd40......I thought, well why not just skip those wires, and connect the rest of the wires....Any thoughts?

Need to ask a question, I got my control board in the mail and it said to take ESD electrostatic precautions before removing board from bag. Said you needed a ESD wristband, gloves and ground. What??? I thought I was just going to replace it. Can you elaborate for me how to set that up to replace my part. I don’t want to kill my new board from static. Help!!!

My problem was the option button. I applied a small drop of WD40 on the inside button, clicked it a few times and voila! working.

Hi Bill, our Frigidaire Affinity dryer looks different from yours; after the first 2 steps (turn timer to normal, 4 clicks to the right followed by 6 second hold on both select and cancel), the 4 second hold on the cancel and start/pause buttons doesn’t do the expected. Any suggestions?

I get this error frequently; jiggling the button (usually the pause/cancel) always releases it. No disassembly required.

I tried you suggestions and got up to the R e 5 but when I press the start and cancel buttons the panel jumps to "TOWELS" 1:00 and I can't get any further....any suggestions. Thanks

Mine is the Dryness button thinking it is being pressed! Did taking it apart and playing with the button/clicking it a bunch do enough to fix it for you?

Well shoot...mine is not. But it will work for a couple weeks then not work for a day. I've found on those days when it isn't working I can just put it into "test the heat and spin" mode for 30-45 minutes and it gets the job done.
