I have the opposite problem. My fridge is in a unheated breezeway. The freezer freezes well and the refrigerator freezes the same as the freezer does. Is there a workaround for that?

Thank you so much! Even though my range model was different and I couldn't follow the rest of your instructions, I did find out out how to remove the door, it's so much easier to work inside without it.

awesome video! you covered it all, much appreciated to keeping it simple and logical and short. suggestion for next video to cover all these issues would be include the dead defroster coil in the freezer as well...that could be another reason why the fridge side is not cooling anymore because ice isn't allowing the fan to send cool air into the fridge side.

Hi Bill, You have provided a super helpful site. Thank you. I watched your video about cleaning out the pump on a front load clothes washer. My washer stopped pumping the water in. It doesn't make any sound. I see your video is ten years old. My washer is a 20 year old front load Kenmore. !. Should I skip the repair person and just go buy a new washer? 2. Your instructions are very clear. If I were less that 83 yrs. and the washer didn't have a dryer sitting on top of it, you would have given me enough confidence to tackle the problem. Thanks to you I have an idea how someone else should fix the same problem. Thank you so much!!!

No other appliance question are world pool. Top loader. It's having trouble spinning. I checked my clutch. I check my coupling. I kinda sounds like it's in between the outside plastic liner when it turns. It makes a loud cranky. Noise Twitter is very slow. You can't put no weight on it, though.

Very helpful! Worth noting there’s 120v behind the front panel, caught me off guard with a little shock. My issue ended up being the last one, the plastic pins and clips broke, so the switch wasn’t being depressed. Glueing it back in place should do the trick

I have an ohm meter but am not an electrician and don't really know how to use it. What am I looking for here? For there to be 0 ohms when I test the circuit? Should the dryer be plugged in when I'm testing or not? I assume not so I don't electrocute myself, but the video doesn't show that. I wish there were a few more instructions for newbies.

Idno, the motors are usually ok, no? Thats why the heat protection is there, Usually its just bad rollers adding resistance or dirty motor covered in lint, little bit of sticky bearings on the motor/fan, tensioner just add lube, rust cutter, also foam rot/air leaks adding heat overheating it, too much clothes in dryer, dryer used on high in hot climate, even as simple as a unlevel surface, with weight ontop/frame issues adding resistance binding the drum or even blocked exhaust will contribute

Thanks for the video - Similar to some within the comments, my switch mounts were all broken. I went with the solution a few folks in here provided - Zip ties and Superglue. All I needed was to use some duct tape and it'd probably have extend the life by 10 years. ;) Thanks for the help.

Another Tip: For anybody else who finds they have a coupling blowout using this video --- where the plastic and rubber part broke and made a mess under the washer, I learned something the hard way --- if your coupling blew down and created a bunch of black rubber dust under the washer - a bunch of that can get into the AC motor and onto its axel preventing it from spinning easily -- so once you have the AC motor off and disconnected and you're getting ready to replace the coupling -- If AC motor axel doesn't spin easily by hand, then you need to clean out the gunk and lubricate both ends of the axel so it does. Make sure to look into the back of the AC motor at the rotor and see if its dirty -- don't just ignore any gunk in there like I did. If the rubber dust/gunk is all over the inside of the electric motor and its not spinning well -- that's a problem because the AC motor axel/spindel should spin easy. Take the time to clean that out and lubricate by the bearings on both ends of the axel so it turns easily. I used combination of Q-tips soaked in Carb cleaner, fingers, rags, and vacuuming to carefully clean out the inside of the AC motor, careful to not let any gunk fall further into the AC coils. Then once the AC motor is spinning well, put it + new coupling back onto the mount. What happened to me was, I got a new coupling & replaced it, in the process I'd saw the AC motor was dirty, but I ignored it, put washer back together, washer worked for a few days before it turned to just would hum when set to the spin cycle, no spin cycle/draining and there was a burnt smell -- it was because the AC motor that is supposed to spin was all caked up from the rubber dust, wasn't lubricated, getting hot and smelled like burnt rubber. Although I had replaced the coupling, I hadn't cleaned and lubricated the AC motor/axel when I had it apart to allow it to spin easily. So my big tip is to do that - axel should spin slick and move easily by hand (hardly being able turn AC motor's axel which connects to the tri-footed coupling means axel is locked up and not spinning right. Great video, thanks Bill!

Thank you for the video your information offers a great bit of detail to us looking for a solution. One that you can plug the oven igniter directly to an outlet to see if it glows, which is great Two that you need at least 2.8 amps going through the circuit to open the gas flow, also great tip! Question: If you do a Ohm Continuity Test (with beeping) on the igniter, when testing it should beep to show that there is continuity through the oven igniter. When you test and it doesn't beep it means that somewhere there is a break correct? Have you tested the igniter this way? Is this true?

my dryer motor hums, I've cleaned lint & blower wheel turns easily. As a test only, when the blower wheel is manually spun and the start button is pushed- motor works fine, heat element turns on & timer works. Is there a start capacitor that would be bad or is the motor toast? Thanks for your video!
