thank you - very helpful. Got out our Klein Tools clamp meter and it registered .5 amps. Sure enough there was a leak in a 4.5 year old Gallery Series Model FGRU19 series. In addition, there was rust behind the back panel. Frigidaire apparently uses "non rust proof cheap metals". Their warranty states Rust Is Not Covered yet they know darn well inevitably moisture will rust out their parts and no one will ever remove this lower back panel to discover this atrocity until they are out of warranty.

Hi Sir, Thank you for sharing your knowledge; the video helped me with cleaning. I have a question: today, the freezer alarm was very loud. I called customer service and followed their instructions, but nothing stopped the alarm. I unplugged the freezer for 10 minutes, and when I plugged it back in, the sound stopped for a few minutes, but then it started again. I ignored it for a while, and eventually, it went off by itself. Now it's working fine, but I don't know what caused the issue or how to prevent it from happening again. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Our freezer/refrigerator makes a noise all day. In the last few months our electric bill has more than doubled. I'm convinced it's this refrigerator and/or freezer. I contacted Frigidaire and they said to clean the condenser coils. Any other ideas? Or a video on how to do that? Thank you!

I saw on one of the comments you mentioned if the fridge has rust it’s not worth repairing. I was wondering why is that? I have the same fridge with this issue and the drain below the evaporator has rust on the drain and two inches to the left of the drain and 6 inches to the left of drain. Visually as long as the drawer is in and the evaporator cover is on you can’t see it.

Rust causes leak , it causes drain hole to get plug it also break the cavity and eventually it would causes air leak . That’s why I do not recommend fixing it if it’s deep rust

I have this same set, fridge went out after 3 yrs just like this one. Paid $1600 in Feb to have it repaired (that was with Electrolux giving us 20% off parts as good will gesture even though we were out of warranty) and that was only 4 months ago. Repairs came with a 90 day warranty. Figures, because it just went out again yesterday and of course we are outside of the 90 day warranty on the last repair. All the same parts you mentioned were replaced. So given that the metals are evidently not compatible with the refrigerant (hence the rust) is this just going to keep happening? I'm trying to decide what to do - buy the new model and hope Electrolux fixed the problem, or go with a different brand and pay for custom millwork to have my cabinets match the new opening since this is larger than most other built-ins.

If unit has rust do not even spend a penny on it otherwise I would fix it . There is a good chance tech did not do soldering properly otherwise there is no reason that unit would not last more than 6 months .

@@hameedwafaAFG Since I first posted that comment it started cooling again and got down to 34F deg for about 24-30 hrs, but now it's up to 47-48 again, so I'm guessing that's caused by low coolant/leaky system? When it cooled down again I was hopeful for a minute that the temp spike was a glitch or we had simply over-packed it (something my wife is notorious for, thanks to Costco) but I guess I'm not that lucky. We already replaced all of the internals incl the compressor and all of the associated parts 4 months ago, which the tech said should last a while. So much for that. Recommend just replacing at this point? From what I've read online it doesn't appear the new models have addressed these issues as there are still plenty of 1 star reviews from people saying to stay away from this set. Good news is I no longer need to go out and buy a dedicated meet freezer since I have this rather nice one that still works great (why is it only the fridge that fails?)...bad news is it looks like I need to buy another set, not this one though. Do you recommend Fisher & Paykel? One of our friends has a F&P set and said it's been perfect.

I feel your pain. I bought a new set the middle of 2019. The refrigerator went bad mid 2021. I had 3 different repairmen tell me it was not repairable. Bout a new one and it went out just now, 2023. the repair guys tell me the same thing. So now 10k in i need to spend another 7k for the new models and pray they are not junk too.

@@chrisross2795 It's unacceptable that Electrolux keeps building this fridge the same way, knowing a high percentage of them will fail in a few years. They obviously know how to build a fridge because their other models are not as fragile as this one. We actually had another repair company come out and fix ours yet again a few months ago and the tech seemed very experienced, and assured us he was confident the issue was now fixed. So far, so good. But time will tell.

@@carman7679 on room temperature it’s should read around 11k ohms , to get the proper reading, I recommend following the tech sheet , you can also Google the chart on the fridge, thermistor chart on a fridge ✌️

Hello Hameed, I have look at your fridge not cooling, since I have the same issue and finally find out all part is working well but the evaprator is frooze on top like yours. I can buy the part , my question can we change the evaporator our self? or we need a specialize tech.

Hi Hameed, I have the same fridge and the food is freezes. Temperature goes bellow zero degree Celsius. When I remove evaporator cover panel, the temperature is steady in 3C (like per setting). When I return the evaporator panel back, the temperature drops again bellow zero. For now I just leave it without the panel and it works good. Evaporator fan is working. Defrost is working. Only the problem when the panel is on. What can be the problem that the panel affects so much? Thank you.

If you checked your defrost thermostat and it’s definitely working there is nothing else except defrost thermistor part number 297110400 or worse case main control board 297326524

@@natalie1234564 get your reading from thermistor, With the thermistor submerged is a glass full of ice water, the sensor should be very close to 32°F which should read approximately 16.3K Ohms. If the values that you are getting are far off from these readings, then the sensor is bad and should be replaced. If you can also search for thermistor value reading . It would give you more accurate reading unfortunately I can not post picture or diagram here ✌️

Hi I have the same model, but mine is getting the food too cold freezing some of them. I removed the evaporator cover, and I see very little ice on the evaporator, the cover has a little rust areas. Temperature is set to 41 degrees, and my NOT digital thermometer dials sometimes 28 and sometimes 40 degrees Please help. Thank you.

Good morning! Take a picture of the evaporator area while the back panel is off . Send the pictures to my Facebook page Hameed appliances repair . Once I get the pictures I would let you know. Maybe you have leak in the system , because if you have leak in the system it would also run for along time to cool down the system and try to satisfy the thermistor need but in fact it can’t and runs forever. That’s worse case . It could be anything ✌️

Hi. Not lucky yet. I paid Frigidaire to fix the leak, they tried so many times changing the evaporator and they failed. Crap of technician. Now Im hiring another company. I hope this one knows what the are doing.
