Many of you have asked if Rising Star could wear leg protectors. That is a good idea. But Risey still finds it very scary when his legs are touched. I thought it was too big a risk that if I put protectors on him, he would start making crazy jumps with all the consequences that entails. If it would be better for Risey in the longer term, I may still decide to use protectors.

Would it be easier for him if you lightly bandaged at first? When you were washing his legs daily, he came in the end to stop flinching at the sponge. Maybe brush a leg, lightly bandage, leave it on while you brush the back, later take it off. Repeat for a few months...

Yfke is so proud of her new skill in untying ropes. She the sweetest (sometimes naughty) girl and she responds so nice to you. I think Bjarni is just beautiful, and I really like his size. I've read that ponies are sold a lot because children outgrow them quickly, but here he is being ridden here by (petite) adults.

What??? Bauke put the Friesians in the Arena??? All by himself??? If Yvonne hadn't said it, I wouldn't believe it! For a man who doesn’t trust horses, he sure was BRAVE!!! Goedzo, Bauke!!! At Stal G, I was watching the Fillies playing in the water inside of the Outdoor Arena, and I was astonished to see one of them looking like she wanted to take a roll! I thought, if that girl rolls in that water, I'm done for! Well, dang! She did me in! I couldn't help but laugh when she not only rolled, but took a drink of the water as she was lying in it! 😂 All of the Fillies looked hilarious, covered in the Straw that stuck to their wet, muddy manes and bodies once they returned to their Stall. Those were the dirtiest horses I've ever seen! 🙃 That Ifke IS a Rascal! She seems to be working on her Escape Artist skills. Yvonne will have to keep an eye on her! I just hope that she doesn't try that trick with the wire out in the pasture. OUCH! That'll hurt! 😮 As for, "Have you done frisky?" In the part of the U.S. where I live, we would say, "Have you BEEN frisky?" Nevertheless, we would know what you mean, Yvonne. Trust me. Your English is better than my Frisian! The only Frisian words I know are: Goedzo, Braf, and Boefke!!! Ha! 😂 👁💙Friesian 🐎🐎🐎!

Everyone had a lot of fun today. Tsjerk and Teije Rein in the indor arena reminded me of Harm and Hendrik. And the girls also had a lot of fun in the straw and the puddles. Hopefully Yfke has already learned that there are also fences with electricity, if not, she could soon be in for a big shock. Bjarni has developed really nicely, is easy to ride and gets along with other horses, including Johnny. (Well, Sjors could still be a problem, although that's probably more due to the old man)

It's actually so funny, having got used to watching people riding beautiful Frisians, to see Bjarni under the saddle! The gait is so short and so "choppy" in contrast, it's like watching a toddler jumping up and down after watching a prize-winning waltz! But darling Bjarni is so very PROUD of himself! Trying his best to do so well! Tsjerk and Teije Rein are very beautiful, and very frisky. And very cross there's no grass in the indoor arena. As beautiful Wunder with buckets, so now, Yfke with knots! Her second name is Houdini. She'd make and EXCELLENT show horse!
