Wow! It is so nice to see the young horses being trained, as I know almost nothing about it, and I really enjoy learning the process of different things. To see Mathilde acting up was also good to see. How you get them back under control etc. Thank-you for such an informative video. And what a beautiful day you had after storm Poly! Exactly! The way she sat that sudden burst of energy was amazing! I do wonder how people manage to stay relaxed while training younger horses, with the knowledge that they could have a sudden outburst and you might end up with you face in the dust. And do the younger horses pick up body aids and are unsure of how to respond or does training help them learn the aids and understand how to respond?

Teije is a better driver at 3 than some adult beginning drivers! By the time, he’s a teenager, he’ll know just about every aspect of managing a stable. The Friesians and Coralle got along well. They’ve seen each other across the wire for a while now more & are more interested in eating the fresh, summer grass than arguing over dominance! It was nice seeing all of the ladies and M&M in training. From these videos, we can appreciate how well-trained the two, mature Sport mares, Uniek & Reintje, really are & how much time Yvonne put into their training to move up in the dressage levels. Yet even as well-trained as they are, they are still worked with frequently and ridden by different people to keep their skills levels up. M&M are doing well and will continue to improve, with not just being ridden, but behind the cart with Boss Rein. I hope we can see them again in training. Risey is still in my thoughts & prayers for a full recovery. ❤

It’s fun to watch Teije help out Mom. He and his brother are such great boys. I am happy to see Oda and Hester, along with Matilde! Hester and Willem evidently enjoyed escaping from their stall to go visiting. JZ did a great job riding young Matilde. I don’t know much about horses so how they are trained is so interesting to me.

Teija blows me away! Then again, I was answering my mom's phone at her ballet studio by age 8, and giving perfect information... I took riding lessons through the Seattle Knights on several different breeds, ages, and levels of experience; I even got to ride a newly trained Friesian stallion for 15 minutes... Frankly, I never cared what I rode or with what kind of saddle as long as I got a good riding lesson. That stallion had a super smooth gait... no problem.

There are very good treatments for EPM here in the states. I've seen incredible recovery's for horses who contracted it. Especially in the last year with new medicine improvements. If this is what Risey has, i pray he is getting better.

I have only been watching this channel for about a month and enjoy it immensely! I am impressed by the quality of concern, care, and love given to the horses by the staff at each stable! Daily I go back into the videos and watch several older videos to help build my understanding. I have several questions if a moderator or a viewer would be so kind to answer. 1. What happens to the colts as they age? Are they sold? 2. Which mare gave birth to Pieter? 3. How many foals have been born to Reintje? I'm not a mod, but Rein the owner of Stal G, bought Pieter I believe. Pieter was not born to any of the mares at Stal G. I believe Rein sells the colts. Other than his "teaser" stallion, Johnny, he keeps no adult stallions at Stal G. But it is better for the colts to grow up in a group, not as solo animals because horses are herd animals.

Pieter was purchased from another stable, as a friend for Rinse Janko....there is a video, if you can find it....some one in the herd will assist you, am sure...we speculated like crazy when Rein brought Pieter into his Stal! Lisa.

Reintje has had 6 foals... Geertje, Lieke, Minze Teije, Reina, Teije Rein, Yfke. Pieter is the colt of Aukje Aagje W. who is owned by another stable. As Lisa said, Rein bought Pieter because Pieter and Rinse Janko needed a companion. Colts can't be with fillies as they get older, but they still need to be with other horses. Rinse Janko had Risey as a companion, but I believe Pieter did not have another colt friend his age at his stable. So Pieter came to live with RJ and Risey. At a mare-stable, such as Stal G, colts are typically sold around age 3. It is very difficult to keep stallions and mares in the same stable, and since Stal G uses artificial insemination to breed, it makes much more practical and financial sense to sell the colts. Teije was so cool helping drive the tractor. It was good to see all horses together at Stal H enjoying a lovely morning. Well done JZ riding such young mares for first time. I really enjoyed the indoor arena at Stal G. It seems so long since we've had the opportunity to watch you train the younger horses. It is sad that Myrtle is no longer with us after these few years. It was such a joy to watch the three filly M's.

I think you are extremely helpful working with the young horses by being on the floor. With All of your experience you know how to instruct and What potential things the horse may do. You keep the horse and rider calm (she did a great job, by the way). Hello to Orange - I love to see her and I’m sure she didn’t leave the stall door open!

Matilda did really well once she settled . Marije seemed to settle very quickly despite being a little bit less calm ! I would love to see a series about how they are being trained to be riden and drive if that would be possible at the training facility. There are some videos in the Friesian Horses library of training at Stal Okkema. There is an 8-part series that follows the training of Eefje, Elbrich and Frieda. Frieda remains at Stal G. Eefje and Elbrich were sold. Also, Eefje is Uniek's daughter- her last surviving foal. If you do a search for "Backing the Friesian Horses" the videos will appear, and you can find the links to all 8 parts under each part. MOD 🧡🧡
