My dad stole my christmas gifts growing that my mom worked hard to provide, bought drugs with what he pawned, left us when I was 14 to be with a underage girl at my school, went to jail, and then passed of a OD when I was 21... leaving me with a whole bunch of credit cards debt ($21K) that he fraudulently took out in my name and (I'm assuming he never thought he would be the one to pass away) planned on keeping from me for as long as possible. This is all a true statement, and now at 38 I look back on those years and can appreciate being a better father myself. There are a lot of people in this world whose fathers don't give a darn about them, so appreciate yours because he cares enough to think of you and try. I play on all consoles and pc, but THIS GENERATION ive used my series x and series s way more because of 2 reasons… gamepass and quick resume. Whoever talks down on gamepass is just a straight up hater lol idc what their reasons are… im not big on gaming subscriptions but GP just has this value that you really cant find nowhere else… i thought it would just be filled with xbox first party titles and some indies, but they got some heavy hitting 3rd party games and managed to get all of their 1st parties on there day one… and they have ALOT of 1st party games. Dont listen to anyone saying otherwise because even im surprised at how many they produced the past 2 generations. Then theres quick resume, a feature i literally didnt care about until i tried it… and now its something that im just spoiled by. Its really hard for me to play 3rd party games on other platforms because of it. Its to the point where i only use my ps5 and Nintendo switch for its exclusives, and PC for multiplayer games (and my steam deck for cheaper games), anything else is getting bought on xbox for me because of that feature. I say all this because prior to this gen i preferred the ps4 over the xbox one for VERY obvious reasons. Didnt think id do a 180 like this lol

A really underated feature from Xbox is that you can actually post reviews on games you own. On the Ps5 theres only a rating but no reviews. Take DA the veilguard, they tried to artificially boost its score, but all the reviews (99%) were asking how tf is this game 4 stars when all the reviews are negative. It took 3 months but its score is below a 3 mostly from pissed off people complaining about why the game was rated so high when its this bad.

my friend was all about the ps4, he switched back to xbox for the series X. besides gamepass one of the biggest things he was hype about was the quick resume function for games lol underrated feature for sure. some of the splash screens in the beginning of games are unskippable and take minutes to get thru. i know its not a big deal, but skipping them entirely feels so good.

Man I luv Quick Resume, can't go a day without it! I'll just be playing Baldurs Gate 3, Tomb Raider or Stalker 2 for a minute, then my friends hit me up to play Halo Infinite or Black Ops 6. And BAM! Just a quick tap on the button and I'm on the BO6 menu to play some Zombies or Multi-player. And after a few hours, if I feel like going back to Baldurs Gate 3 I can do that asap while being on the Xbox party with my friends. It's not something anyone needs, but once you have it you'll miss it.

I play primarily on Xbox, the main thing i don't like about PS is it's fanboys. Sony is kind of a pretentious company too but otherwise ps is cool and I play it occasionally. The main reason I don't play pc anymore is because I don't want to give up my achivements profile on Xbox and my pc is old as dirt now (2011). Former playstation guy here, bought an xbox series s to replay halo, gears, etc, not even a year later i upgrade to a series x and havent really looked back except for a few ps5 only games. Features such as game pass, quick resume, and proper backwards compatibility are better reasons to use a console than exclusivity and brand loyalty

To think CraterFaceGuy ripped his gf off. What a leech - and then there's this guy's wife widening this guy's horizons in gaming. She pretty much made him a GAMER. Someone that actually PLAYS games wherever they are and not the boxes that run games. Let's be gamers again. We're missing out on a lot being the cultists/elitists we've become. Fanboys on EVERY platform are really missing out on some good games.

Saw this video the other day, and it was kind of cool that he had this moment with his wife playing Halo. My wife doesn't play video games much but it sounded like the fun time we had playing "It takes two" on my laptop in bed with one Xbox and one PS controller. The versatility of PC will make ponies heads explode. Gamers should find fun on any platform. That's the point of gaming.

after years of just playing on consoles and getting a mid to highish range pc that can play 1440p native at high settings, yeah its a fantastic thing. also a owner of both ps5 (the normal one) and series x from day one.

He doesn't have to go over to PC if he's perfectly comfortable with Console, even if PC has options that console doesn't. PC isn't for everyone.

PC is NOTHING BUT OPTIONS console doesn't have. It's complete freedom versus a very small walled garden. Growing up in the 80s, 90s and early 00s I was a console fanboy so I understand why one system is a amazing fit for a great many people. Someone who only owns a Switch, or only owns a Xbox or Just a PlayStation is someone happy and content with their gaming experience. Just like ALOT of PC gamers only play on PC because they are happy with that - some people have cheap hardware and only play a few games they love. ALSO great way to game. There is NO wrong way after all. And if your happy on one console especially that is a very great/optimal thing. It's when guys start becoming hardcore and investing the kind of money he has into PSVR2, expensive accessories, many different platforms, several concurrent subscriptions, and etc.... that your no longer that typical gamer/person. At that point your paying ALOT of money for a inferior experience on every level. And in this guys case, he seems to be the adventurous sort whose stepping into other gardens - so I expect freedom would blow his mind.

@@FreddyKruegerRealEstate I'd argue that you're wrong. An Xbox Series X/S, PS5, or Switch does give people options. It gives them the ability to play Video Games for a low cost of entry. The alternative is that those people don't get the ability to play video games at all. Yeah, there's a Paid Subscription that's required to be able to play online these days on Console, but that's the tradeoff for a Console Manufacturer giving you the luxury of playing Video Games Online on their Low Cost Hardware. Every Game on Console doesn't run at 60fps? That's not the Console Gamer's fault, that's the Developer's Decision, so blame the Devs for not making it happen, don't blame the Console itself. The console is perfectly fine for people who just want something simple and easy to use. Just plug it up and install the Games and forget about the Outside World and get your escapism. Not everyone wants to look at Display Settings, Graphics Settings, and have to adjust parameters of the Game they want to play. Those people are simple people, and they play on Console. Their options to Gaming is through the Console, and they're just happy to be Gaming at all.
