AJ has held the heavy weight division up for years with these rematches. A rematch should only take place if it’s a tight fight or a dodgy decision. Man got absolutely schooled by Usyk got a rematch. Got obliterated by Andy Ruiz got a rematch. Got destroyed by Triple D and he’s getting another rematch. He doesn’t deserve one.

Why is AJ continually afforded excuse after excuse and a platform to perform that he doesn’t deserve? A challenger, and let’s not forget that’s what he was in the Dubois fight, was comprehensively beaten from pillar to post and yet there are those who are adamant he’s entitled to a rematch 😂 I understand that Hearn needs it because his fighters are falling like dominoes, but idiots like Spencer Oliver etc giving it “he deserves the rematch” Give me the logic?!

Boxing hasn't been based on merit for ages. Those with the biggest following and best management get title shots before others who should be in front of them. Why would AJ deserve a world title fight in front of the likes of Zhang or Parker if we are basing it on last 3-4 fights? It's got even worse though recently with joke contests involving the likes of Jake Paul. Personally I want to see a return to a society based on merit in all things!

I don’t believe they should be rematches in title fights because if you’re the champion and you win you have to fight again so if you lose the second fight you’re not the champ anymore, but you’re opponent is when it’s 1-1, if you lose in a title fight you should have to build yourself back again to get another opportunity

No, AJ doesn't deserve an immediate rematch. He was the challenger, and was convincingly beaten. Ali had to wait for 14 fights before rematching frazier, and 15 fights to challenge again (vs foreman). There's a mandatory, its his turn.
@bombercountyblues2 күн бұрын
Spot on everything but there being a mandatory.. kabayel and bakole have to fight first to decide that one.
@paulandhisguitars2 күн бұрын
@bombercountyblues I'm not sure how it works with the ibf, but in the old days when their was just one title, you could fight anyone in the top 10, provided that every 2nd fight the boxer ranked number 2 got a shot at the title. To me that seems like a fair system. So, if the mandatory is still to be decided, go down the ranks and find someone else. Zang or parker maybe, if they haven't got fights scheduled......but not AJ, he needs to earn the shot again. You don't earn a title shot by losing a title shot.
@bombercountyblues2 күн бұрын
@paulandhisguitars after fighting usyk, miller, hirgovic and joshua in the space of a year, I'd say dubois more than earned the right to rest up and wait while kabayel and bakole fight for the spot...
@paulandhisguitars2 күн бұрын
@@bombercountyblues yeah, I wasn't suggesting he had to book a fight tomorrow mate. And the point of booking a fight with a top 10 fighter (rather than a mandatory) was to give a champion the opportunity to have a slightly easier fight, a relatively easier payday. Doesnt always work out like that of course.
