This channel is seriously my #1 choice for informative fishing videos. The in depth content is amazing, the presentation isn't boring, and you get straight to the point! Can't stand the whole V-Log crap all the other guys are doing. Most of us just want to learn, and not about what you did with your Aunt Beatrice on Tuesday night. Thank you 100x over for keeping this channel strictly educational based.

Went out this morning, June 22, 2019 after following you from prespawn to early summer. Private community with nine lakes/ponds. Lakes are covered with thick moss but clarity is brackish. Tossing the Ribbit Frog in various colors and completely destroyed it!! Vintage Shimano chronarch, 25# all braid on a Shimano medium-fast 6'6" rod. Two hours in the morning brought 8 fish, including my PB. 21" long 14" around belly and my fist could fit easily in her mouth. Went out at 7:30p for another 45 minutes and slammed 5 more, total today 13! And this is going to happen all summer! Thanks for all the tips, your channel is awesome!!!

Matt excellent education on frogs! Nothing like the top water frog bite! That spectacular visual and the noise of the frog getting walloped' ... nothing like it ... and brings a huge smile to my face every bite.

My girlfriend was so impatient when fishing, so I gave her one of my nicest frogs and I threw on one of my cheap frogs so she wouldn't get mad at me for getting too many bites.... 4th cast she got slammed and didn't know how to set the hook, so I showed her how to let em have it. Now she can't stop using frogs, and has never taken that frog off all because she got bit just once.... I want to watch her nail a huge fish!!!!

Og Bqze it's hard to get someone else into bassin when the bites tough. It's hard for us to realize ppl don't want to sit for hours for maybe 1 bite. Sounds like you did it right haha

A blue frog is a must for me. There are a ton of these baby blue dragon flys around me that I've seen the bass key on above everything else ceartin times of year. Great videos guys.
@5280Bassin6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that. I had one day a few years back where I was watching bass...not just little ones either...leaping out of the water hitting those blue dragonflies and I couldn't get them to bite ANYTHING. I never would have thought to use a blue belly frog, but I'll add that to my list.

Frogging!! I've loved frogging and pretty much all top water fishing from the very first blow up I ever got. I was a twitch and stop throw into cover and on top of mats guy till I watched a few of Tactical bassin's frogging videos. I'm walking my frog now and the blow ups have been amazing this summer open water, mats, thick pads, grass lines you name it if I'm throwing the frog I've got 100% confidence im putting a fish or 2 in the boat. Thank yall for all the informative videos.

Love frogs. Got my 2 biggest fish on them. I'll throw it in open water vs cover about 50/50. And I have 2 3700 boxes full of them. One with regular frogs and one with popping & other styles. And just about every color. Lol that was the bait that got me hooked on bass fishing. Good info!

Matt Allen you are so right. I keep a black frog tied on year round but i use a black and chartruse. My dedicated frog rod is a 7'3" M/H but i have a H for back up. Frogging isnt hard,you just gotta tie 1 on and keep fishing it. I keep a rod with a weightless trick worm on stand by for missed strikes as well.

My main question though, I have gotten really good frog bites early morning, but what should I do during the day because here in Florida the water temp will change as the sun gets higher, and I still get blow ups but they aren’t as violent as early morning and they miss more, wondering if I should slow down or speed up and if I should change styles of frogs because I still find them in the same areas, shallow water in heavy grass and pads

Great tips! 65# test may seem like overkill, but I certainly wish we had superlines when I was younger, anything over 20 - 25 pound test felt like you were throwing anchor line. My biggest pike was 41 inches and around 17 pounds, I hooked it in a lily pad weed bed and it must have had another 15 - 20 pounds of weeds on the line, if you can give yourself an advantage? use it!

@troyblackwell89766 жыл бұрын
Hey Matt and Tim. I know this video was made a while ago but I was wondering about some things. I primarily fish from a kayak or just from the bank. I want a dual purpose frogging and flipping/pitching rod. You said in your flipping and pitching video that using a frog rod for flipping and pitching isn’t unheard of. walking a frog from a kayak is kind of hard from a kayak and you sort of need to side arm it if that makes sense. I’m looking at the Dobyns fury 735c. I’ve heard good things about it but I’m not sure if things change a bit when fishing from a kayak and I know you have limited experience with kayak fishing but maybe you could help. Thanks a bunch!
