Another great option for the straight retrieve category is the ZMan Hard Leg Frogz. Pretty much the same as the Spro Flappin Frog. Toss that sucker on a 5/0 EWG and you’re good to go. Even with a 5/0 EWG hook they float. Great option for those who prefer spinning gear but also want to go frogging, since you can just use a lighter gage hook. Get yourself a medium heavy or heavy spinning rod with a good aluminum bodied, 6 ratio spinning reel and you’re in business.

Great information Tim, your videos have greatly improved my bass fishing. The cotton you were talking about on the water's surface are from the seed pods of the cottonwood tree. Where the cottonwoods are thick it can look like it's snowing when they open.

I use black red Kuro frog boo yah pad crasher. It always works. Black belly. Recently I did a whole day with a white belly with yellow legs. It worked! Reason: I think that in the spring that butterflies and bugs in my area have yellow highlights. Also the tiny sunfish in many ponds have a yellow streak. I think the rubber color of the skirt legs makes a lot more difference than folks think. The skirt legs flicker a bit like tail fins. Great secondary motion.😉

You guys should mention sometimes that heavy fast action spinning rods are available. 13 fishing makes a great one called the defy black super affordable only 60 bucks. I’ve tried to watch Dean Rojas but never seen any of his vids where you can actually see the bass strike and how fast he sets into them.

I've had some magnum spots explode on frogs but I must say it is the exception, not the rule. I live on the shad-filled Lower Coosa River in Alabama, so I use a white frog or BassRat alot. One thing I learned decades ago is that spotted bass are seldom caught IN grassbeds, where you fish frogs most often. Those magnums (5lb+ spots) are caught more on the OUTSIDE EDGE, not IN the grass. They learn from a young age they'll get EATEN in the grass! THAT SAID- early, late, and at night, a shad or bream colored frog will absolutely draw some vicious strikes from spotted bass... ESPECIALLY during a willow fly (Mayfly) hatch! 🐸

Looking at past videos like: Release date: 11/28/2021 BUYER'S GUIDE: TACKLE STORAGE AND GEAR MANAGEMENT @ 7:17 in the video you talk about the Plano 3700 Hydro-Flo. Release date: 12/16/2020 Buyer's Guide: Best Tackle Storage Solutions And Gear Protection! @ 23:48 there is a Plano EDGE 3700 Deep box that is holding frogs. Since the Plano 3700 Hydro-Flo was suggested in the newest buyers storage guide, 11/28/2021. Is this now both Matt's and Tim's preferred storge system for frogs? Quick summary I can grasp is, Hydro-Flo allows frogs with water inside of them to air out while the EDGE is water proof therefor, one should air out the frog before placing them back inside the EDGE. I noticed something in todays thumbnail. Is that the new 2022 Metanium Shallow Edition? It has a lighter grey color plus the micro module is now light grey instead of the matte black color. With the reel being new, how do you like it so far compared to the normal Metanium 150B? I am very interested in the shallow edition. Thank you very much!
