Clive James interview 1985 2/3 Victoria Wood, Peter Cook

This part contains the tail end of the Victoria Wood interview, in which she and Clive James talk about quiz shows.
They are joined by Peter Cook who gives his views on bad behaviour abroad (especially his own), and relates an anecdote of holiday warfare against the Germans at Majorca.
Holiday reading, Don Quixote, means of travelling and Cook's contradictory tastes are also given passing mention.

lovely to see how even the famously shrinking Vic Wood was comfortable in Pete's presence. i reckon a lot of people overlook how encouraging comedy legends like him and Cleese were to emerging boyna-fodes talent and the Next generation like Vic, and the French and the Saunders, and the Barry Humphries (Dame Edna) and those Fries and Laurie's and The Likes... funny guy, too, still, makin Vic giggle.

James is pathetic,you know he’s trying to be funny, that allows in desperation, which James is not but when Peter began to be expansive a look of exasperation came on James face, as if to say, don’t completely embarrass my efforts at trying to be funny, Peter, absolute genius, turned it on and off whenever he got to embarrassed being funny, we will never see anyone as talented
