I remember doing this achievement a while ago with my 3 other friends, we were up until 4am on this (in my time zone anyway) and I’d do it again. It wasn’t stressful or anything, just pure fun while we were joking around and we got it first try.

Getting it in multiplayer is also easier just due to the fact you can have 3 players attempt to run past everything and one hang back to spawn their buddies. Even if you don't and just run in all together, 4 players is 3 extra players worth of firepower and running

Yeah once I learned the Cortana speed run routes, it’s much, much more tolerable. Still sucks cuz of the Gravemind/cortana talking parts, but it makes the level a lot better.

Waaay back in '08, I decided out of nowhere to do a solo legendary full game walkthrough, killing every single enemy & 100% clearing every section, before moving on Aand iirc, the game didn't even differentiate between doing it co-op, or solo back then I was soo fully stoked to see mcc show it, when I 1st signed in

Oh yeah, btw...my best trick for doing cortana the completenist way, was to go into the little side tunnels (or any area you can make into a tight corner with side cover) & block 1 end/side with a deployable cover Aand just work from the open end

Man the first time I ever beat legendary was tough. My best was like 45 min and the Cortana level took me 2 hours 😅. Speed running is so cool. I could never do it but you guys are always amazing to watch!

On Crow's Nest after you hammer-jump the water over to the elevator, if you haul ass off the elevator you can jump onto the Pelican, then jump off onto the roof of the upper area. Then you can grenade-dump onto the brutes up there as soon as they spawn, makes it much easier

What I do at the last section of floodgate is run on the right side and ignore everyone. I jump down when I pass the battle rifle on the ground and go up the ramp seen at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="502">8:22</a>, then use a regenerator once I pass the cube box and then run past the last group of enemies. The final group of pure forms at the foot of the ramp made from ship debris can be a hassle occasionally but I keep a hammer with me to kill them easily if I have to. At the start of the mission, when you first turn left and find a dead brute, one spawns between the two yellow things. Overall it is a very easy, safe, and effective strategy I also like to skip the group of enemies under the turret at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="539">8:59</a> by jumping up some rocks right next to it's left leg

Just so you know at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="714">11:54</a> you can change it from the awful MCC control scheme back to the original Halo 3 control scheme by switching the “Hornet Control” setting in the Halo 3 controls from “Button” to “Thumbstick”. Hard agree that the change to the A button is stupid because it means you can’t aim your guns while ascending anymore. Hope this helps :)

I tried beating halo 3 with all skulls active except the granades one and the one that keeps you from aiming and i think theres a skull that slows you down. So maybe i turned 3 skulls off i got all the way to the ark
