Also 4k in single lens mode when the camera is waterproof works great to film underwater since the stitch line is very visible without a dive case underwater. So that’s the best way to use it in my opinion!

I bought the x3, which is very cool, but I did not find it practical at the time. Returned it and bought the Canon R7. Decided to jump into photography ( this I blame on you ). Two weeks later I was gifted the X3 from a family member. Never unboxed. Now I'm so soo very happy. 😁

Hey thanks for taking this to an Air Show! I use the Go 2 and the GoPro right now for BTS footage while I’m out at an air show and the GoPro fails me a lot so I’ve been looking for something to replace it with. This seems like a nice way to go for BTS!

Loved everything you said - except I bought the X3 over the 1 inch due to weather sealing. Being in the UK, a sunny day can very quickly be a rainy day and the X3 will carry on regardless. I could have afforded either but couldn't have justified both.

My current action cam , a Garmin VIRB , is getting beat up and the battery life is going. This camera looks interesting. The software is key. I have a bargain 360 camera and the software is terrible , slow ,or buggy ,that makes the footage difficult to get on a playback device or share in a edited video. Basically I have a video with two side by side fisheyes in its unedited state. When viewing my video in the slow mobile on the phone in a VR headset is kind of fun. Caught things that happened that is not right in front of me is the a 360 camera greatest strengths.

what can you do get rid of the fisheye strange look in this camera? is there a way to make it look like a normal camera and hold it on a distance while interviewing someone face to face with you while holding the camera out to one side of you and the person you interview? what mode and settings should one go for then? thanks! :)

Small picky point: You're the second reviewer I've heard call the sensor half inch. It's written 1/2", but is actually 1 over 2 inch, with an actual size of about 6.4 x 4.8 mm with a diagonal of 8 mm according to Wikipedia - which is never wrong. Half an inch is 12.7 mm for the metrically challenged in the USA. As I'm sure you know the marketeers started using these arcane video sensor sizes to make their tiny sensors sound bigger. Oh, and you missed the opportunity to use the expression "I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot (barge) pole". No offense intended to anyone from Poland who is almost 4 metres tall!

The dash cam mode is cool but most dashcams now show 170 front and 170 back which is more than enough, however, still super cool this would just be a super pricey dash cam and I highly doubt it has the same perks of a dash cam

The loop feature would be helpful if you don’t want to record a three hour trail , bike ,or paddle trip , but the highlights of it. Many of a time I had to quickly switch on Record just to catch the tail end of the event or just miss it all toghter.

Insta360 pre-emptively cannibalized the RS... Maintaining the modular design while sacrificing waterproofing was the major turn off. All that quality that can't be used in environments that could truly benefit from it, was a major disappointment. I would have happily shelled the cash if it was waterproof, even with the size penalty, but the X3 can be used for ALL environments and is easy to have with you. I suppose if money was absolutely no object, I would have both, but as a normal person, I don't personally need ~1500K worth of 360 cameras for my use.
