Great job man. I have a similar experience. Started my business with a $1600 pickup truck, and within 5 years I was running 3 30yd packers and 2 rolloff trucks with 55 cans out. We had about 2500 weekly residential customers and about 450 commercial rearload accounts. Unfortunately for me, the bigger I got, the worse it was. More employees, more bills, more breakdowns... The stress and 7 day a week job got to me within about 12 years. Couldn't take it anymore. Sold the business 4 years ago and couldn't be happier. Good luck to you. Hopefully the same doesn't happen to you.

First month, the shop I put the machine at caught on fire and I didn't start making money with it until 3 months later when it finally opened back up. Fast forward to November of 2020: This is my last week at my full time job and I told my employer to shove it. $8500-10,000/month in gross revenue. It feels great.

Lol, stay at homeschooling mom here (other than maintaining the rental home we own), and I have zero interest in doing what you do, but I love seeing people succeed with hard work and determination. My Uncle was the flashy get rich quick and live big type of person, and my dad the tortoise type hard work and slow and steady investing in himself. My uncle sadly died with nothing and huge debts, and my dad owns his own construction business building multi million dollar cold storage buildings. He doesn't run his business on credit, so when times are lean, he isn't stressed about it. You'd never know he was well off. He and my mom are just average people who were cautious and smart. I've learned a lot from them both. I have a huge amount of respect from them. You have that same work ethic, and determination to build yourself up the right way over time, that I see in them. Congratulations and great job! You deserve every bit of success you have.

If so what are you doing so well that is pulling over their customers to you? Also, I hear you talking about the amounts your making but what are you seeing for net returns? You don't have to answer with a hard number there if you don't want to. How about what % from gross is your net? Thanks bud and you earned yourself a new sub.

tbh the down to earth tone and just blunt realism in this video is why I trust your words alot more than the many, many recommended videos about making money doing business 'life hacks'. I am not saying I'm going to quit my job as a machinist to go into trash hauling (though it's viable and I DO have a truck), but it makes me think that maybe I don't need 50 grand, or even 20 grand, to buy a new/used cnc mill in varying condition. It makes me think it's worth saving even just 2000 for a crappy beat up bridgeport and doing weld prep to at least get started.

I'm so happy for you! My wife and I were discussing spending and living within our means, and we did some quick math to determine our net worth is positive. Regardless of what our things look like, (not new and "latest and greatest") we are FAR richer than most people we know. I don't have any friends whose net worth is positive. That's a very dangerous condition. At any rate, keep on keepin' on. Thank you for this video. It's inspiring.

My tree hugging daughter suggested starting a similar business to this, just today. Then I had this video pop up. She's studying to be an accountant. I've had several other business's that didn't make it. I need her accounting skills. I already know how to work hard...Maybe this could be my pie in the sky, or prove my teachers right. I'm a slow learner. LOL!
