I did 'You load, I dump' with a fleet of 12 dump trailers, making up to $1000 a day. Most customers were roofers at $10/square for shingles yielding $200-$300 per load. 3-5 loads a day. You drop one, they fill it over a day or to while you pick up and dump another one previously dropped off. Get used to fixing nails in tires.
@jamesjusick14624 жыл бұрын
@Alexander Curtis 7x14 14K rated with 4' sides. In construction, small remodeling jobs are the best because they dont want to keep the trailer for a month. Clean ups are good for the same reason, also "Trash outs" after foreclosures, you load or they do, most take two to four loads. I charged by the load, with 5 days on site max before they had to pay $20 extra per day. One trailer can get you going, but you will need to do jobs where it wont sit a week at each job unless you have other income. Good luck!

I was confused by the title of the video. Is $1000 a week a lot of money? Every tire is $150 and I go through a lot of those. It just seems like anyone who is motivated to make $1000 per week needs to just get a job. Now $1000 per day, I’m listening.

@@Live-Life-Freely well there is other side to the coin ..ive been a craftsmen for 30 years . and theres pros and cons to everything . cons ..the good ol'boy system reigns ..clicks and race dominate who gets the good jobs .the work is brutal on your body and dangerous . many fatalities every year . long hours 84 hour weeks are the only way to make big money as a hand . alot of us have to travel job to job . and that ruins marriages...i could go on and on... its not for everybody .
@Live-Life-Freely4 жыл бұрын
@@sergiolazo4594 I hear you. And there's a lot to consider here. Just because you don't go the college job route doesn't mean your body has to suffer. Working hard doesn't mean beating your body up. I've worked a lot of 80+ hour work weeks and didn't feel it because I've stayed away from booze and drugs so when I rest my body rests because of work and it's not trying to recover from useless added stress. This isn't a stab at you, I'm just saying I know so many guys that abuse their bodies with things other than work. I know you've seen it too. I don't see an issue with the good ol'boy system for a few reasons. One, if I'm not allowed to work because I'm not in the in-crowd, I have enough faith in myself to find a job somewhere else. Two, I don't want to force myself anywhere I'm not wanted. Three, that system actually makes for a more pleasant work environment, you get to pick and choose the people that have the same ideology as you. So I just let them be. I actually used to work for one of the top brokerage firms in the world and from up there we used to look down at the people on the street working and almost actually envied them because they weren't trapped in glass cages like we were. That's actually the job that turned me off from wearing ties. I haven't worn one in 2 years because of that job and refuse to wear one. So yes you're 100% correct there are a lot of pros and cons. What I've learned is that the only thing that matters is perfect peace and if you have that then you'll be at peace where ever you work.

Short of it is, I quickly started a business at 25 years old that did well for 27 years..In 2017, I decided to try something else and pursue a passion of mine (besides fishing)..Now I restore C1 corvettes for a private collector (who is also a buddy that did well in business), which is something I enjoy, and I would have almost done for free. Great side hustle- NOW as several have pointed out, you may have a loop hole of lax law in the area...if you are doing that for a living (not hauling your own dirt for your own yard) and are hauling over 10,000lbs (six tons of dirt is quite over that) TECHNICALLY you need a DOT # and a name on that rig. As they say "It's only illegal until you get caught" Here in Georgia, I drove a one ton dually F350 for a company service truck for 17 years until I got pulled over by the DPS (the "truck cops") who read me the riot act, did a full inspection of the truck, wrote warnings for a couple marker lights, and having "incorrect registration" I then had to have the company re register the truck tagged commercial for 10k-18k, have it inspected at a DOT licensed facility, pay the $ for a DOT number on the truck, then I had to go get a DOT physical and such.

Another great video, Sir. I am fortunate to have a good paying job, but I always have a hustle. When I was a young man working as a broke cop I started a lawn care business. After 4 years I was so burnt out that I got out of that business. I landed a job in the private security sector and started a KZbin Channel offroading that lead into many opportunities. I opened a brick and mortar called Off Road Nutrition. We have been open over a year and have 4 nutrition clubs in our organization. My wife is working the business full time. My full time job only requires me to work 3 days a week though. I have 4 days a week to concentrate on my business and KZbin Channel. In addition, I am always flipping something. The free time has allowed me to continue hustling. There is plenty of money to be made out there, a Fella or Gal just has to be willing to get out there and work hard. just an idea and please pass it on, how about a roll-off that way you can drop off a piece of equipment from what I saw you get 3 of them with purchase
@hustlenation47794 жыл бұрын
The reason I never did that was because a rollback is only good for putting trash in the dump trailer you can haul equipment materials all kinds of different stuff
@davidhawley94564 жыл бұрын
@Graham, I had a custom roll-off trailer made back in 2008, the old timer that fabricated it use to build the big truck models, so its very heavy duty,triple axel with the smallest semi trailer tires rated at 6100 lbs each .axels are 7k rated each. Axels will break before tires give out. It has a 13 hp Honda pony engine for the Hydraulics for the reeving cable system. It has been a great piece of equipment .

Why didn't your friend dump the dirt load with the dump trailer tailgate in the double barn door position? It would have left the dirt in taller piles instead of spreading it out all over the place.

How do you start a business like that, with truck and dump trailer
@scrapmanindustries4 жыл бұрын
put ads on craigslist/facebook. or put a giant sign on your trailer that says rent this dumpster or something. if you don't have land to park it put it at like the local Walmart or some other place for a day or two here and there. (make sure you find better ways to secure it than just putting a $20 lock on it if your doing that) a lot of times if you put slightly higher sides on a trailer like you see in the video you could rent it out for $250-$500 a week depending on your local trash prices. park it let people fill it with trash and debris for 3-7 days then when they're ready come pick it up. they pay you whatever price you agree on for the time it was there then you go and take it to the landfill or transfer station or recycling yard. find other people that do that and have a website. they usually have the business outline there for you to read. you just gotta make it work for you.

Yes but dump trucks ain't cheap. You could probably get 10 dump trailers per dump truck.

Probably marks up the materials, he probably gets a discount because he has a contract with the place he gets the materials at. And he’s also charging a $40-50 delivery fee. I’ve considered doing this also, just have to get a dump trailer and a truck lmao

@@donotrobme9295 in the video he says $125 a load and he did 4 loads that day. So if he does that a couple of days it adds up.

People dont know what to charge. Generally I learned to charge by the hour and depending on what parts could be consider gas etc. I worked for my dad for 6 years plumbing and only now started to make good money because he undercharged everything.

@SkilledEddie4 жыл бұрын
The trailers are paid off but is the truck paid off? Gotta factor in how much you paid for all equipment before you think you made any money. Then you gotta put money aside for truck maintenance and eventual engine and trans overhaul.
