This family has been through so very much pain and heartache. Now Anderson has a son, with whom he may share all this wonderful history. The very fact that he and his mother shared such an incredible bond is a gift. I, too, shared this kind of bond with my own mother in the last 20 years of her life. We were left with nothing unsaid when she passed almost 4 years ago, and I go to sleep every night with her in my prayers. If you haven't made friends with your parents, do it today. He conducts his interviews with respect and with dignity that I find to be extremely admirable, without the hype and drama that has become so common in the media. With everything he's been through, he is still able to contribute his style and charm to the forum of televised American journalism

Adrienne Bolles very well said- I was thinking how Anderson seems to have it all. Born into a wealthy family of high society parents. He is a fit, handsome man with an exciting job that many people yearn for. His mom looked beautiful and glamorous still at 92. But then when the suicide of his brother it reminded money does not buy happiness and inside many external appearances, misery and trauma lie. His dad died of heart disease at only 50 so no matter how wealthy one is- it could disappear in a moment. I think the suicide of his brother is sad. I appreciate the words you wrote Adrienne. Even though Anderson seems to have it all so to speak, he internally and privately could be going though a very painful time of mental and emotional suffering.

Never knew she was the mother of Anderson Cooper until someone told me - great - he never cashed on her name and fame. Hats off to him - infact she is known as Anderson's mother to her delight and very proud of it! Again, hats off to him!

Thats so incredible. And I did not not know the extent of Anderson's tragic history. His father AND his brother. Ugh. RIP to his mother as well
