It depends. It depends on company to company. It depends on your role. There are 2 types of companies 1) service base company(sbc) 2) product base company (PBC) Service base companies are generally like TCS,vipro,infosis etc... Product base companies are like google, Microsoft, Facebook, Amazon etc... Generally for sbc salaries are less compared to PBC. Suppose u have been working for software development level 3 in tcs and you have experience of 8 years in it industry then your salary will be around 30lpa-40lpa inbetween, not more than that. Sometimes it may increase like if u have more than 15 years experience or 20 years experience, it will increase but not more than 40lpa. In PBC the salaries are crazy, Suppose you have been working in Google for software ware developer 3 role and you have 8 years of it industry experience then your salaries will start from 70lpa to 1 crore or 1.5 crore, some times more , it depends company to company. If u work in abroad like us,uk etc.. there your salary will be more like 2 crores, 3 crores sometimes 4 crores. That is why people have so much compitition to work in product base companies.
