Another great film, with some of the best drone-shots I have seen of Hadrian's Wall. It was a game of two halves (to use a football term) with the weather for you, but I would take the mist of Dunstanburgh anytime, over the crowds at Alnwick. Ethereal.

That looked like fun and I thought the fog added to the atmospheric shot. I noticed they are filming some of the new Indiana Jones film at Bamburgh Castle in Northumberland at the moment, so thought perhaps you had gone to take part!!!!. I agree the fog and the ruins make it look very ancient. The Roman Fort is incredible. Hadrian was an amazing Emperor, I have quite a few of his coins. What an incredible place for a picnic. There is a mystery writer called LJ Ross who has one titled Sycamore Gap at Hadrian’s Wall. Thanks for the great drone footage of the wall

At first I thought you might be at Bamburgh Castle which is a little north of Alnwick. Oh, I do wish you might choose to visit there. It is the setting for Lynn Kurland’s time travel romance novels. In the books Bamburgh is is ancestral home of the De Piaget clan . I’m not a spring chicken, but I do hope I will get there someday, Meanwhile, I love traveling all around the UK with you vicariously. Thank you so much for your wonderful adventures!

To be honest, after visiting Alnwick we said we wish we would have chosen Bamburgh instead as Alnwick (especially because it was owned by Lord Armstrong) was far too touristy for us. But we went to Lindisfarne last year which was extraordinary.

My hubby and I are of the same mindset as far as not being a fan of crowds. That’s why we love it up here in the North Georgia mountains. Isn’t it crazy how the weather changes and what a difference 1 day makes. Beautiful scenery and fish & chips are always a good idea.
