Excellent walk-thru, very helpful. Thank you very much! The video music is a bit distracting and if you could put your picture in the lower right and move the browser up in the video it would be easier to see what you are doing!

Thanks for a great video! I bought a SHARI PiHat, loaded ASL3 and could not get the SA818 to launch. Your video solved my problem and also made the overall project much easier.

Very nice overview of the new install. Do you think this is worth it if I have Supermon installed? I am not 100% sure of the difference.

Mike, good question. I do not have experience with Supermon, but my friend Freddie Mac from the @HamRadioCrusader KZbin channel has a great video talking about both platforms. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rX_NZmRprdOpgKMsi=N8glGo3LAV6Ezu2C. In his video he talks about the difference between the versions of Asterisk platform, which is the core software of the Allstar network, that is used in both ASL3 and HamVoIP. As an IT professional, I can tell you that 15 year old version of software, especially software exposed to the Internet, is not good if it is not being regularly updated with security patches. As I suggested in the video, if you have a running version of HamVoIP, leave it intact and give ASL3 a try with a new sd card. If you don't like ASL3 or having issues that you can not overcome, you can power down the Raspberry Pi, swap out the sd cards and get your HamVoIP node back online. Freddie Mac is an awesome resource when it come to both versions of Allstar. I would suggest giving his channel a follow. I hope this helps out and I look forward to hearing about your adventure.
