Fun fact TRD made turbo 1.5 manual versions of that Vitz. A mate of mine had one and it was awesome, they were about 140/150hp with the TRD turbo kit on

I drove a 500 quid 2001 Yaris SR over 50k miles in 3 years, most reliable car I have ever had! It drank so much oil by the end and the rust was getting it but it was such a great little car, still had the factory TTE rear back box

Ruben has the same idea as me. Cut the back off the bus and make a car hauler with a front half camper for track days. Most buses are rear engines these days so you need to have huge ramps to get a low car over the engine. There are still some mid or front engine buses getting around. I don't have the room to store one now so I just use my car trailer and drive home to sleep. Most of the teams get on the booze as well which wouldn't be good for me trying to drive on Sunday with a hangover and very little sleep.

In Australia these were sold as a Toyota Echo. The "Sporty" one you could get was the Sportivo which was a 1.5L NA There's a surprising amount still on the roads too

Big HP numbers dont mean jack if you cant take it out for a fun spin, but reliable and quirky and makes the driver smile like an eejit = true car success! Ive seen MK2 Escorts and little Fiestas bring huge money because of nostalgia... I had a 1991 Legacy 2.2 turbo people used to laugh at back in the early 2000s how even with my many upgrades raised it from 160 to 250 HP... People would kill for it now. I imagine the zippy Yaris is going to be the same when 90% of the cars stuck in traffic are electric, but your bro can sit and smile and give it a rev. People will foam with jealousy.

I got a SCP10 Vitz as well. I’ve turbo’d mine, revs to 9k with a stock head. I’m currently working with a broker to try and source a TRD-MSB and I’d eventually like to get one of 4WD 1.3L 2NZ models to do a RWD conversion to.

Brilliant content Neil my other half bought 2 new yaris's back in the day from moran's Toyota in avoca a red 2002 1 litre and a limited edition blue 2004 1.3lt was nippy little thing I bought her 5zigen fn10c 16" white wheels from couture auto in meath and lexus clear rear lights which I only sold a few months back 😀 god brings back memories

This is my kinda content! I'm in the US. Current owner of my 2nd '08 Yaris. First was a Yaris S that rusted away. Took the special S bits from the interior, exterior, and wheels, and moved them to a much cleaner Yaris Base. The previous owner of my S actually put a Vitz badge on it

1st generation yaris as the nicest interior and the least generation actually looks the best on the outside. My partner learnt to drive in a 99 1L Yaris and now as a 13 1L Yaris she don't like change 😂

As an American, we don't have cool cheap imports from Japan like you guys do. So Stephen if your thinking your car is subpar or it's not the greatest as a car since all the other imports are expensive, trust me, it's not. I'd daily drive that thing in a heartbeat! You guys are so lucky to have these cars whenever you want them. I'm a nerd for this stuff so seeing with all the Japanese stickers, parts, rhd, etc is so cool! Awesome daily my man
