As I've grown older I've come to respect all forms of car mods and culture because at the end of the day we are all car enthusiasts who sink our hard earned blood sweat and tears and quite a few cuss words into our cars and weather it's hydraulic lowriders, fart can civics, drifting, jdm, American muscle, etc I respect it all now I have my favorites and don't really prefer civics but style is like a fingerprint all of em are unique and I will never put anyone down for their particular style

Me and a friend sat in Izumiotsu PA for hours one night just hoping to luck into experiencing something similar; didn’t happen of course. Did manage an equally messy night in Dotonbori. Fuck man. I just spent the last two weeks rewatching the enterity of the current vlogs, leading back into this series. Your production levels have gone through the fecking roof with this one, all that time spent working on sorting footage and editing has been well worth the effort, this series is outstanding and we're still only on episode 3. Great music selection, brilliant quality and good captures and just the overall vibes. The fucking moment of the music fading out as the Civic hammered it out onto the straight on the Kanjo. Man, Kanjo culture is wild. It's something you really wouldn't be able to fully replicate anywhere else, as it's not only a need for speed but also a statement against Japan's conservative culture. Even if you got a bunch of Civic drivers together to do something like this, it wouldn't have the same amount of depth, and in that regard you guys have probably witnessed one of the last generations of Kanjo racers in Japan. Truly special stuff, keep up the great documentary work Neil!

Haha ! I appreciate that man, the comical scenarios trying to find outlets to charge batteries at convenient stores is something we should have added to the videos. I think the battery was dying on the loop so I was turning the camera on and off and switching to the phone.

random a couple moths later but this is amazing, i have searched high and low astonished by the lore and history of the racing and kanjo racing in general and this has to be some of the most refreshed and amazing footage, perfectly describing like....the break between serenity and peace japan has and the quietness you can almost see broken by these amazing cars im so glad to see that it is continuing and I remember seeing and being sad about the fact the this was dying out, its dangerous and it breaks people but can also build so much. Its almost inspiring to see these people and you talk and even communicate about this broken translation or not, thank you.

If you like Kanjozoku, you should try out the Tokyo Xtreme Racer games. Really shaped up my love for this kind of stuff even before I discovered Kanjozoku. Really captures the team battles, rivalries, and culture of the pre 2000 street racing scene in Japan!

Amazing video! Just an amazing snapshot of underground culture in Japan, you just don't get to see this sort of thing very often, and it needs total committment to get this story, you literally had to trust them with your lives. Also amazingly well shot, that view of the convoy heading across the bridge at about 31.30 looks like a video game!
