From Bottle Dump Bulbs To Mudlarking Fairy Lights!

Happy Mudmas!!! Today is the first day of Mudmas. We found some things in a bottle dump that we saved for a Christmas craft, come see what we make and find!! :)

I know this was from last year, but how cool to meet another Sagittarine! My birthday is on Dec 10th. I think its awesome to meet other people who share the same zodiac sign as me! Happy very late Birthday Fleur ( I hope I spelled your name correctly?) Well I'm still a bit newer to your channel so it's why I'm so late, and I have to say I LOVE IT ❤️!!! Your stunning family bring so much joy and inspiration to so many people you should be so proud. Thank you so much. After years of searching I have finally found all pieces of a tiny doll so I'm currently sat watching your doll making video and making my own dump doll like bitsy. My grandmother passed away late last year and she was a 'collector' - whilst going through a very old tin I found lots of antique handkerchiefs so I have decided to make the cloth body and limbs from one of them and plan to make her a dress (of sorts) from the lace trim and remaining fabric. Wish me luck (and dexterity)!! haha xxx

Merry Mudmas and happy belated birthday Fleur! Yours is the same day as my late father-in-laws birthday 🙂 Oh those little lights are just so cute. I have been thinking of doing something similar with some of my smaller bottles and shards of coloured bottles but I’m not sure I will have time this year. I did make a winter snow scene bauble with one of those hollow glass baubles, some Snowtex and some tiny figures. I used blue glass paint to give it a cosy evening time look and I’m quite pleased with it. I can highly recommend the glass and ceramic paints! I love the little bulbs you used, it’s like they were made to become fairy lights. The ink-spriration was an inspired idea, subtle but doesn’t distract for the beautiful old bottles at all. Well done Kate 😁

Great idea with the ink on those mini bottles for the fairy lights. Another idea could be to use the clear-coloured modelling paints like Umbrol/Tamiya etc that come in the small pots. I used to paint aircraft model kits in my youth and immediately thought of those! 😊 Happy birthday to Fleur (belated as i'm only just catching up on this video) 😀

Oooooo, inspired by Mudlarks I used a bunch of pressed glass tea lights and made them into fairy lights. I bought markers suitable for glass and decorated each, following the cuts. Then I bought some electric tea lights which flicker like candles and even came with a remote. Glass can also be 'painted' by using Elmer's glue (a common cheap child safe glue) add equal parts water and food dye to color. It isn't permanent but it will last long enough. I never heard of fairy lights before I learned from various British Mudlarks, and I found out that the US also had fairy lights back in the day. So thank you all. ♡♡♡♡♡
