One memory of my early childhood is of visiting Dad’s mom’s farm in northwest Arkansas. I learned how to milk a cow and pick berries, and we made real ice cream using only the cream (no milk), fresh picked berries, and a hand cranked ice cream maker. 😋😁

@@PermaPasturesFarm21 Dad told me that I had to perch on the ice cream maker and cackle like a chicken while he turned the crank for the ice cream to come out properly. I was young enough to believe him, and big enough to weight the machine in place.

Whey has bacterial cultures in it. Leaves on trees excrete a sugary substance esp. when fertilized. The whey feeds off the sugary substance using it up before any harmful fungi or bacteria can grow on your trees.

Billy, I’m with you on easy eggs.🤮 We buy our milk from a local farmer here in North Idaho. I’ve made Greek yogurt twice from it and looking into cheeses now that the cheese companies have changed the rennet they use. Thanks to Doug and Stacy for the heads up. Tillamook was our favorite cheese being we are originally from Oregon. So discussing what has happened to our food. Cheese making is the next project.
