Foraging fungi can be incredibly dangerous if not done under the watchful eye of an expert or unless you are knowledgeable about mycology as some fungi cannot be identified without a spore print and if you’re in doubt of what that is please buy your mushrooms as some foraged fungi you will only eat once…..

You are so right about the books on mushrooms/fungi. I have quite a few books on them & still never had the courage, or stupidity, of picking any, because of all the conflicting messages from books! I just wouldn't take the risk. I stick to what I'm sure of when foraging & mushrooms are definitely not on my list😀 Are the spiders you mentioned, the same ones that are now doing well in Norfolk & Suffolk? Chester Zoo were breeding them, Fen Raft Spiders, to help with their conservation as they were "at risk", if they are the same ones?🤔 I'd already spotted Sammies beautiful hat & wondered where she'd got it from🤔😀 She's so talented & it had beautiful heather colours in it. That Thai food looked great & good size portions too😋 The pipes in the woods got me all choked up....don't know why I got emotional listening & seeing him there.....daft old bat🤦♀️🙄🤣🤣 It sent my dog a bit crazy though, when he was tuning them 😂😂

The Fire Ponds with Rafts Spiders are in the other direction towards Nethy Bridge lol. I never pick any wild mushrooms just in case I am wrong.
