From Crowded Malibu to Dumping Beach Barrels

Yves Bright and I chased a recent swell from over-crowded Malibu to a thumping, barreling beach break. Malibu was fun but just too hectic for Yves liking... which is totally understandable. I think we made the right choice.

We use to call Malibu Polio Pool in the 70's and 80's. God knows what it is like now.

The lagoon and point were "closed" because of a sewage spill into the creek, but dozens of knuckleheads were surfing anyway. And the showers are closed, so who knows how many will get sick.

I watch your vids from time to time and that beach break at the end was the best surf edit ive seen you throw up here yet. i love waves like that! freak peak to close out or occasional roll in out the back or just hollowed out close out death drops. great bodysurfing, bodyboarding, and surfboarding!

Only surfed Malibu once in 1964. My brother an I had one of the first Skip Frye boards and Jonnie Fain accused my brother of stealing his Frye board. For those of you that don’t know Malibu history Fain and the Cat ruled Malibu at the time. We told him to fk off and continued our session.
