I am happy you spoke about this key battle, but you left key parts of the story. Actually this battle showcased the abilities of a 16 year old young Peshwa Madhavrao. Just a few months earlier Madhavrao and his uncle Raghunathrao agreed on a truce in which Madhavrao had to bow down to his uncle. His uncle has the command of the army...but in this battle Raghunathrao got into a precarious position. It was Madhavrao showing personal courage rallied the troops and attacked the Nizam across the river....wah! Just imagine that scene - it gives goosebumps. The Nizam general Vitthal Sunder was killed and the Marathas won the day. After the battle a grateful and proud and even emotional Raghunathrao wrote an effusive letter to the young Peshwa's mother praising the exploits of his nephew. But Raghunathrao in the ensuing peace talks let off the Nizam lightly trying to play politics and to have an ally with him against his nephew in future. But this battle increased the prestige and status of Madhavrao after the humiliation he suffered a few months earlier. It was the Peshwa coming into his own. I mean a movie can be made on how Madhavrao revived the fortunes of Marathas from the dire dumps of Panipat to re-establishing Maratha might at every place Marathas had ruled pre Panipat.

The Marathas lost Panipat coz they were carrying women N children N pilgrims numbering 2 lac , the Marathas were in a vacation literally, they never took the Abdali seriously, Bharath should learn from history, unpreparedness and casual attitude is punished severely in war !!!

Outlandish mythical images can't substitute a realistic account of Battles. The narrator can't even pronounce "Rakshas Bhuvan" properly. Does any one aware of this Marathawada region?Even today,it is a barren dry semi desert like terrain with little fertility.Imagine things 2-3 hundred years back. Not a land to fight for. The gain or loss of territory BT Peshwas/Nizams was insignificant. Nizam might have got defeated but he continued to survive. Compare this battle to another battle at Rakshas Tangadagi on the banks of Krishna btn Bahmanis and VijayaNagar(Hampi) VijayaNagar army was summarily defeated and their entire empire was destroyed(not just by Muslims but by locals too) Foot note: Few battle ground areas are named with prefix "Rakshas" in Deccan and South because of the ferocity of battle.

Lmao wdym 🤣 Marathas were a Deccan power, it was unlikely of them to conquer North India but they did it until the war with Pathans, who were already habitual of the Ganga plains due to past Muslim empires. But still taking that defeat, they made it again as it's shown in the video. But I don't think you'd get that. COPE😂

@NIRAJCHAVAN-wc3rpMrathas could only remained in southern India as a small power. And soon became British slaves even Nizam outlived them. Abdali broke their back bone.
