LoL, Just a fun generalization about popular drums from the 70s, which was Ludwigs and concert toms, backstory, I bought these used in 1988, with my part time job, had them every since so yeah, I like them alot.

No offense, but holy grail for who? They aren't even 3ply or double headed rack toms. As long as you're happy I guess.

Plys? Not even sure, they are maple Ludwig's from the 70s, sounds pretty good to me, especially doing 70s music that contains that classic concert tom bark.

@@NEALBABBITT now you made me curious, lol, looks like the concert toms are 4 ply, floortoms and bd are 6 ply, ( those are double-headed) so likely a 1976+ era
@NEALBABBITT14 күн бұрын
@@snarehihatbassdrum Should be 6 and 8 ply.

@@NEALBABBITT I'm looking right at them , 4 and 6 ply lol, don't think 8 ply came out until the rocker series in 2000ish?
@NEALBABBITT14 күн бұрын
@snarehihatbassdrum Rocker series WERE 4 and 6 ply, as were super classics that came out later and Neil Peart played. Yours look much thicker than that.

the Ludwigs are sick, but as soon as you pulled out that Birdseye Maple TAMA snare, my eyes lit up!

Good eye! yes, that snare is my fav, it's very nice and was my first "high end" snare.
