If we let them, break-ups can be the greatest sources of pain and growth in our lives. Break-ups are hard, but you can get through them.

The human nature is intersting -- when someone shows us all the green flags, we find one red and use it as a reason to reject the person. Similarly, when a person shows us all the red flags, we go all out to find one green flag and use that to accept the person.

why you think you understand what happened? its not just green flags you need, that just about yhem being a healthy match. there needs to be love as well for example. When you feel that love slipping, the most loving things you can do is cut it off. for example. so no being a decent person isn't the reason people will want to be with you, it's a reason for them not to leave you when they also feel love for who you are. it isn't complex but you sound bitter and entiteled like when you are nice, people are obliged to stay even when it becomes totally fake for them

He dodged a bullet. Someone who ends a relationship in absentia, with a vague letter, is cruel, selfish, and cowardly

If it wasn't for what she did, he wouldn't have found someone else and hopefully got him to reflect to better himself. (Hopefully that woman find what she was looking for....) Dodged a Bullet indeed.

We can all agree with Obama and Joe Biden that gay marriage is not real marriage and should not be encouraged.

Needed to hear this. My now ex-fiancee just ended our 6 year relationship. She cheated on me, blamed her actions on me and left me to deal with the aftermath. Hearing how he grew from this and learned that being open about his feelings will improve a relationship, or determine if they really shouldn't be locked in, is very valuable. Thank you for sharing!

I love this man. He grew so much from that relationship and now he can be there for himself. That man is a husband. Mostly he is going to be a hell of a family man. I love seeing this. It makes me feel so happy. When I was his age, something like this happened to me once. My grandmother told me at the time, everything works out. She was on this earth for 80 some years and turns out she’s always been right :-) blessings to this man. I hope he has a very long and happy life. Can you check up on him? Would love to see what he’s up to today.

It doesn't seem like he did anything wrong. The relationship just wasn't right for her. He's got a great attitude about the whole thing. We can all take things that we wish hadn't happened as lessons.

Similar thing happened to me. A long distance relationship, her mom was crazy to be fair, but we admitted our hearts to each other, made long term plans together etc. She was trapped in her hometown and I was going to rescue her etc. but she just dropped the whole thing and blocked me on everything. Only afterwards have I realised the red flags along the way. Sure we had a huge compatibility in terms of our interests but I've also learned that the motion of love is 2 ways. You both get drawn to each other, all the motions and moves just come naturally with the right sort of people. I'm glad this guy stopped feeling sorry for himself. But beyond that, this guy loved and respected himself enough to find a love that respected him and was healthy for him. That's the biggest lesson I learned - respect yourself enough to find a love that is healthy for you because you need to believe that you deserve that (if you're looking for a relationship)

could have been worse. she could have just ghosted you, deleted you, and kept the ring as a souvenir, in her shoe box of other souvenirs, like the tacky-printed ashtray from that high school trip to Niagara Falls. nothing but silence. gone. -C

Heart Break taught me that I was capable of being human, and not the S-Offender that I am. My way of making amends is having a Donor Card, check all the donation boxes when I renew my ID annually, and avoiding any possiblities for success, and relationships.
