Seeing all the DIY stuff you do inspired me to personalize some of my clothing! I recently thrifted a black tie-front cardigan and it was already cute on its own but I decided to make it more special by beading the cuffs with some iridescent beads! P.S. I've done the blue bin bathtub bath dye situation. Bleach takes any stain out of the tub. Especially the thick blue bleach that's used for tiles.

This was so interesting to watch, i just tried dying my pink bathrobe black a few weeks ago ans the synthetic dye only turned it like a silver grey, similar to some of the pieces you did. I used the same dye too... i wonder if its just not the best stuff.

heyy i don't know if this is how you dyed it but I've had the best success with actually boiling the stuff for at least as long as the directions recommend. I've dyed stuff without boiling it and usually that's when it came out..not as black but usually still kinda cool :) idk if that helps at all

Honestly all that stuff looks so cool since you dyed it! I was a little sad to see the green go away..(just because that’s my favorite color and the one I wear most right now) but it all fits your aesthetic so much better now! A little goth and a little fairy! O B S E S S E D with how the belt turned out too!! This was such a fun video to see you transition some old stuff into something new for yourself! Also, braces are such a struggle, I had mine for over 6 years so I totally understand your pain😬.. if you can find it, dental wax is a lifesaver, slap that stuff over your braces and it’ll keep them from shredding your gums and cheeks💕

21:40 I've read something before that you actually have to add green to counteract red dyes when dying an item black. That being said, it turned out really pretty even keeping the red; I actually like that one better in red and black. A lot of black dyes do have a red base (I've played with bleach on black fabric a bit and wound up with some vividly red designs), so maybe it has something to do with that?

Just be careful, items bleached in large amounts need to be soaked in a water and hydrogen peroxide mix (10:1) to avoid holes being eaten into the fabric over time (or bleeding onto anything else and doing the same). That stuff can be a mess (my skirt got my jeans, whoops).

I did this to a bunch of my clothes as well a few years back. Pretty much all the clothes that weren't already almost black I had to dye again to get a true black, so I don't think it's your fault at all most items came out gray. But they look great! Those crochet tops came out so good. I think they look very witchy.

Love the new hair colours!! :D This was fun to see how much the clothing changes just by darkening them. I also relate to having most of my closet in darker shades. I own some antique corset covers that are really old but still wearable but I never reached for them in their beigy/white tones. I decided to dye them with black (they all turned out a purple grey but I still like them because it gives them that faded antique look) I like them so much better now!

I love the way most of them turned out, and admire how much work you put into dying them 💜. I’ve never personally tried dying clothes, but I have tried bleaching them and had mostly no changes. I’m primarily a white goth and so wear white more than other colors. I’ve had clothes turn brown, yellow and one jacket turned tomato red. The only success I had was getting the top of a dress to turn like a tie dye of black and cream color. It had a very cool design in the dye effect. The bottom didn’t bleach at all. I’ve given up trying to bleach anything except cotton t-shirts.

My black utility kilt has sun bleached over the years. (It never goes in the washer. I just hang it to air. Sent it to the dry cleaners once. Came back so nicely pressed!) But it's 60% poly. So if I want it really black again, it's going to be an industrial stock pot on my friend's backyard grill kind of project. If we get around to doing dying like that, I feel like there are going to be a LOT of items to dye.
