Thank you so much Anna, I was raised as a Jehovah's witness also. I also left during my teen years and when I returned to the Jw congregation I also had a very strong feeling about being with God. I got down on my knees crying and begging God for a sign and I saw light that I can't describe. I was also told i was crazy through WT doctrine. As u said anointed ones are only for 'perfect' people. Not people like us who lived in the world and did all the things. I am on my journey now this year . I'm 43. God has always been with us. I went to church for the 1st time 2 weeks ago. I am so inspired by your story, thank you so much and I wish you all the very best ❤

I enjoyed your story very much. You are correct about the Jehovah's Witnesses. I am 66 years old and was born in the JW "religion". I knew very early in my life that they do not teach and practice the truth. Recently I realized that I must go through Jesus to gain salvation. But I suggest all people continue to search for truth. We are only human and Jesus knows our individual cognitive abilities, we all are different and learn differently. Even after death the search continues. Through Jesus we will find God. ❤🙏🙏🏻🙏🏽🙏🏿

Very interesting thank you. I agree that faith in Jesus, prayer to God, and Bible reading is all that is necessary to be saved, so not sure why the lady then suggests finding a nice church where you feel good. I prefer to be non-denominational. I guess others like to get together with a congregation every week.

I feel very much for you Anna, having grown up in an ab_sive family -- which has the same dynamics as a cult, my narcissist mother was the cult leader in our family -- the mental and emotional anguish you experience is NORMAL. You aren't having your needs met for love and belonging, and the lies you are fed about the cult -- propaganda -- are unreconcilable with what you see, feel, and what's written in the Bible. I was involved with the 'Word of Faith' movement for some years, thinking that this was the modern Protestant church. Its false teaching caused me to feel like I wasn't good enough, and didn't have enough faith, because Jesus wasn't doing xyz for me. It puts unbearable burdens on people, and I felt increasingly that I didn't fit in. 38:10 a truth teller or whistleblower = “apostate” in JW lingo. JWs and other cults that try and impose their false narrative intimidate or silence using the mental illness card much better to always ask the hard question and follow the truth wherever it leads. Good point! My narcissist mother was the cult leader in our family, and when I would have a different opinion to her's -- and therefore be a threat to her control -- she'd scream at me that I was "sick", "mentally ill" "there's something wrong with you!", and she convinced my father that I have bipolar illness, despite there being not a shred of evidence to back her claim. Many other people who have had a narcissist mother have told me of an almost identical experience in their family, being told they were mentally ill for having a different opinion. It's interesting to recognise the same cult dynamics at play.

Even a Christian cannot brush aside the worship of Jehovah as God. In Revelation 1:5 the Son of God called himself "Jesus Christ, 'The Faithful Witness.'" When on earth as a man he was a Jew, an Israelite, to whose nation the words of Isaiah 43:10 were written: "You are my witnesses,' is the utterance of Jehovah, 'even my servant whom I have chosen.'" Jesus demonstrated that he was a faithful and true witness of Jehovah God. His genuine disciples today must be the same kind of witnesses, Jehovah's.

Please read Isaiah 43:10-11… Jehovah clearly states there is no other God and no other savior. John 1:1 says Jesus is a god (NWT) and Luke 2:11 says Jesus is our savior. Therefore how can Jehovah contradict himself? Hebrews 6:18 says Jehovah can not lie. How then to you reconcile such statements?

When we read the Bible in its entirety, we can see the image of who we are to follow clearly - not a distorted image of producing out-of-context Bible verses and putting them together to support our claim - like you did and like Jehovah’s Witnesses do.
