Please look into the court case of gloria trevi. Biggest and saddest case. 40 girls abused in so many ways by a big time producer and it only recently came to light and the case will be shown on Univision. One of the victims came out with a book about what happened and it isn’t allowed in America because someone in power has lots of money. Gloria Trevi abused girls with her producer.

@@yangduran1663 idk if they can just confiscate A’s device. She’s not charged for any crime so it’s not like they can do that to her. But skater B situation involves her phone so I assume the fed does know something about the photo. I understand A wanted to defend herself but it is still wrong like this way. It’s inevitable that people will attack her because the age gap is inappropriate. She’s not a criminal and I won’t call her a predator, but it’s still a disturbing relationship. A wanted to marry and have kids with a child below the age of consent.. Ick honestly. The minor's parents didn't want their son to get punished but were completely fine assassinating the character and career of a teenager. From their text messages, he asked Haein to do a hickey mark and that was it. His attorney literally stated that what the minor said in the initial investigation was misleading and that he never claimed to feel uncomfortable. Why in the world are they not reinvestigating this? The age gap between him and Haein is weird but they were both minors when they started dating. They're both immature teenagers, and the KSU essentially ending Haein's whole career over juvenile behavior is outrageous.

It was juvenile behaviour done by an adult to a minor. If there is one thing we have learned from this channel it's that the justice system in Korea is extremely harsh on females and lenient on males. They smelled a scandal and went for it. KSU just wrecked two of their top skaters, and they don't even care to properly investigate. The statement from the minor's attorney totally changes the viewpoint of the case, but Haein's entire skating career ending over something that might've just been immature teenage behavior doesn't matter at all to them. Also, why the heck did KSU punish You Young? Haein stated that Young never took any picture and the minor never received any photo from her either. If they want to suspend her for drinking alcohol then I get it but for an entire year? A one year suspension only for drinking is overly harsh and excessive. KSU completely dropped the ball on this.

Figure skating is a special subculture, where in pair skating and ice dancing a big age gap is considered normal. Guys at 23, for example, can be considered juniors. Also, the video correctly explained how much time skaters spend on the ice since childhood, so a skater can have much more in common with a colleague who is several years younger than with a classmate. Therefore, it is not so easy to judge this situation using the criteria of ordinary life.

former figure skater here - started skating at the age of 3 and stopped when covid hit when i was like in my first year of uni lol some things to note: 1 - Koreans were really hyped last olympics bc cha junhwan placed 5th which practically means hes gonna podium at least this upcoming year since a lot of the top dogs are retiring 3- A big reason why skaters start so young (esp girls) is bc of puberty. your entire centre of gravity changes and you basically have to relearn all your jumps and spins once you go through puberty (bc you got these bags of fat on ur chest now and wider hips) A girl I skated with went from consistently getting gold to literally not even podiuming bc she lost all her jumps and spins 3 - fun fact a lot of figure skaters (myself included) have gotten concussions from falling /that/ hard on ur butt. my tailbone has been brusied at least 4 times at this point and hurts every time it's about to rain or my period is around the corner lol 4 - this is a CONSTANT misconception but a triple axel is 3 and a half rotations. A single axel is 1 and a half, a double is two and a half and a triple is three and a half. 5 - also a big part of figure skating is genetics and body build. yuzuru hanyu (the GOAT) has perfect body proportions for a figure skater which is why he 1) is the GOAT and 2) can almost doa quad axel which has been previously said to be impossible by physicists. narrow shoulders, narrow hips and overall slender build = you go fast in spins both in the air and on ice. (another fun fact: he's actually considered to be a bit too tall to be a single skater at 177cm in height bc at that point they throw boys into ice dance) I often sometimes look at people and think "they have the perfect build for figure skating - case in point Jimin from BTS lol) 6 - another fun fact: a lot of skaters will refuse to wear white dresses bc they want to stand out on the ice. myself included.

The minor skater's attorney explicitly said that the minor's statement was misleading: 1) minor said that he didn't think Haein committed any crime, 2) he never felt offended by Haein's supposed actions, 3) he didn't want Haein to be punished. Whether this would change the outcome of the case is unclear, but the fact that the KSU aren't even doing a retrial when all of this has surfaced is incredibly irresponsible and even more dubious with the same institution that denied Haein's appeal being criticized for corruption in the badminton world. This isn't even mentioning how they penalized Young for allegedly taking an inappropriate photo of Haein when Haein said she didn't do any of that and even made a petition 🙄

@triplea_qgb1963 well, but it was not the case. They dated when they were both minors, he was 15 almost 16 (korean age of consent), she was freshly 19(age of adult in korea). Not 13 and 19, why are you suddenly twisting the age? There is nuance to this. I personally also wouldn't be upset if a guy dated a girl when they were both minors and then he turned of age and is still dating them. Of course, the question still remains if he actually was uncomfortable with the hickey, ans if he was then I don't condone the actions of the girl, but the age gap doesn't matter here because no matter how old you are you shouldn't do sexual things to a person that makes them feel uncomfortable.

@@AnnaS-g8x I don't think it would be any different if it was a man kissing an underage girl he had dated while they both were minors. Problematic and possibly gross, telling us a lot about her/his character? Sure. But not worth this much publicity and punishment, when you take all things into account. I don't even know if it counts as a sexual act, but I admit I don't know how that is defined, exactly. I genuinely don't know what you mean by "physically looking like an 8 year old", though, because I would argue that's subjective. She might have looked very young for her age too, no? Or thought that he looked older than his other male peers? Korean kids definitely look younger to me than European kids of the same age, and all kids look very young when you look at them as an adult, but that's not how Korean teenagers themselves necessarily feel, so I don't think that should play a role in how we view the issue. We’re in Scotland at sea level, he wanted to go to Canada to work, cos they are so far above sea level, so salt isn’t then a factor. He qualified in Germany, worked in Italy for a while, came back to Scotland, all the ice was different. At one point, his took here had curling mon-fri morning, then ice skating fri-sun, again different types of ice. And then the rink would need to be cleared down to the concrete and then new ice made, a few times a year. It’s much more complicated than people realise. Great video, love listening to you!! I was in Olympic development for soccer in USA. You sign a contract just to be in the development program which is a team for each state. The contract requires a whole list of conduct rules that of course include no drinking, no drugs, excellent behavior befitting a representative of the country, etc etc etc. It's pretty serious even if some people don't take it seriously.

3.5 years of a gap is gross at that age, that is the difference between my little sister and me. i have always seen my little sister as a baby, even now when im 20 and she is 17 (i am trying to get better at not treating her as if she is younger than she is, but i struggle with that bc she seems so young in my eyes). do i think that this figure skater deserves to have her entire career ruined? no, probably not. but is there any universe in which she shouldve ever been involved with the younger guy at this age? NO! It is one thing if they dated at 21 and 24 (for example), but any gap where one is 18 or younger is far too significant for me to ever see her as anything other than a creep.
@7vt8td
@7vt8td Ай бұрын
So if like for example two people started dating in their 15 and 17 Yr of age (2 age gap) then do they have to break up if the older one gets passed 18 Yr of age? I can't understand why you think anyone passed 18 is old well they now do have rights of being an adult but they just started entering adulthood, just a year before, they were still a teen. Moreover by your logic whatever the age of two people is as long as there is a age gap, it should be gross but then you state your last few sentences, I can't help but see the contradiction to your words. Also just because someone is the same age as your sister doesn't mean they are all gonna be like a lil sis to you, I can understand your sister's friend but all people having the same age as her?no man

@@7vt8tdIt’s all relative to their actual ages, not the age gap between the two. A 2 year gap between a 17 and 19 year old is pretty much fine esp if they met as minors. But a 12 and 14 year old is not okay, even though they’re still 2 years apart. The same would apply for a 10 year age gap. No one would care if a 30 and 40 year old got together. But the same can’t be said for a 19 and 29 year old in a relationship.

So the reason why the backflip is banned isn't because it's dangerous, it was because you couldn't land it on one foot. That was why Surya Bonaly went all out and did the backflip on one foot. Her way of saying she was the best, even if they judges wouln't admit it.
@AnnaS-g8x
@AnnaS-g8x Ай бұрын
@@williamrobertson892 i watched figure skating for years and it’s because it’s too dangerous. You can get concussions and serious head injuries from attempting backflips. Surya is an icon and experienced a lot of racism, but for this case it’s more about athlete safety. Now, they let skaters do backflips after Adam Siao did it at the last worlds. He still got deductions for it lol. It became very popular just like how skaters did cartwheels on ice.
@williamrobertson892
@williamrobertson892 Ай бұрын
@@AnnaS-g8x I'm not trying to say that it isn't a dangerous stunt, it absolutely is. I am just saying the reason the ISU banned it was because they believed it couldn't be landed on one foot, and all landings need to be on one foot. If they banned it for danger to the athletes then they wouldn't of unbanned it for the 2024-2025 season imo.
@AnnaS-g8x
@AnnaS-g8x Ай бұрын
@@williamrobertson892 I don’t think they banned it because of one foot. They just didn’t want anyone to even attempt a backflip whether it’s landed on one foot or two feet. I ended up doing my own research about the Korean team and i came upon a group picture and i was shocked because “c” is a literal child, a fetus actually while “A” looks way more like his older sister . Honestly, if were his parents i would be very upset . Imo there was a huge power imbalance between them cause honestly 18-19 (though a teenager ) is still way MORE mentally mature than a literal 15- 16 year old. The punishments were fair if “c” was being coerced and felt uncomfortable but it’s also true that if it was the other way round esp in Korea, this wouldn’t be the outcome.

Oh - and the Black skater you're talking about? You totally SHOULD tell her story: Surya Bonaly of France. She absolutely refused to get on the medal podium in 1994 when she was awarded silver because she was certain she deserved gold, then even TOOK HER MEDAL OFF too - which is SUCH a flex, but not everyone in the skating world appreciated it. That was the year she'd done a backflip like she was flipping the bird at the judges, knowing full well they weren't going to score her like she deserved because she was "too athletic" instead of graceful (she was SUCH a powerful jumper). Her (adoptive) mom was her coach, too (I remember hearing hints that her mom was controlling or abusive - but that was in the 90s and I also heard horrible things about Tonya Harding around the same time that turned out not to be true because skating is very very very elitist and classist and racist, so both Tonya (from a trailer park) and Suriya (Black) were Not Welcome).
