That game last night was my first experience in SMITE 2 dealing with someone with an ego trip after doing "well" and quickly losing control of the game, unable to use their lead to an advantage, and when faced with a loss - only blamed the other 4. I've seen this a million times, and have learned over my time of playing a dozen mobas...the ones who are quick to blame others, and demand you play the way they want you to play, are the ones who have difficulty improving, once they peak. Whether casual or ranked, they will continue to blame others, and find ways to excuse themselves from any mistake, instead of using that same amount of energy to dig deeper and find solutions to overcome the many variables we face in mobas. (i find human behavior extremely interesting, especially in this space)

Your comment here should prolly be pinned, but typically players like the Pele don't know how to transition from the ganking/laning phase to the teamfight phase, what they do, and probably what the Pele did, was he was trying to do the same solo act in team fights instead of playing patiently sitting back and waiting for his opportunity, there's few junglers that can lead the charge in a teamfight when everyone is at level with eachother, and Pele isn't one of them.

Loved the video, I just got into Smite 2 a few days ago and it's ALSO my very first moba so I'm having to learn twice as hard, hearing you think through the game and not have the hyper-aggressive/selfish mentality that a lot of Smite 1 vets have is very refreshing to hear from. I actually picked up Ymir support as my first character and I really like to build Heroism, Stampede, Screeching Gargoyle, Talisman of Purification, Gladiator's Shield, Ruinous Ankh, and Hussar's Wings as my default items and then swamp them depending on what the enemy picks for gods/items. Also maxing out your 3 and 1 as soon as possible is really great, It doesn't get you as many kills but being able to hard CC for over a second and a half early game or having the wall up for over 4 seconds is actually super good for your carry and for ganking other lanes, especially the ones that have slow/hard to aim abilities.
@chuggajr16 сағат бұрын
Welcome to SMITE! Hope you’re enjoying it. As a tip, the normal level priority for Ymir prioritizes the 2 over the other abilities because it helps your lane clear, and helps you get early kills. Ymir is a lane bully who does best when trying to put as much pressure on the enemy as he can. I’d also recommend you give war flag a shot as your starter, since it gives the same gold and sustain as the other starter, but the speed helps you and your ADC play more aggressively. You’re still free to level/build how you want, but if you keep this in mind it might help you win a lot more fights.

Keep doing what you're doing, its interesting and informative to see a new approach to smite, which in my eyes has traditionally been hyper agressive in terms of playstyle and it's refreshing to see more objective orientated players coming over from league. Regarding ranked, imo you already have the game sense and god pool to start, learning all the intricacies of individual gods will take time but this is a great time to get into smite while the roster is still relatively tame. It's far more intimidating trying a competitive moba when there are 100+ characters you might need to learn. Take your time, enjoy the game and learn at your own pace

Trolling baby raging gamers without getting mad yourself is a god tier skill. Also, at 11:56, I think you could have intercepted Nemesis at the Gold Fury along with Fenrir. I think at 18:35 Nu Wa pulled the Gold Fury because her fog made you invisible. As a rule of thumb 18:50 towers and pheonixes don't get damaged by abilities, but jungle mobs and bosses do (unless the ability says so).

Great vid loving watching you learn the game (Fascinating as someone who played the first game since season 2 - it ended on 11) Only thing to note is as you were stacking gauntlet of thebes - when you are on your own in lane if you let the minions get last hits they will still count as assists for you (See like @10:20 onwards for an example, or @16:45 as letting these be assists rather than kills would get you more total gold in support because of your starter item) and for smaller minions in support this will actually generate you more gold - only exception being the big guy, that one you want last hit for the insane gold gain :) I know it might be because of playing a lot of other mobas but your decision making is on point, I think my only note here would be to encourage aggressive warding more in the jungle and pushing objectives more consistently, gold and pyro can both be taken more consistently but I can see here that you're actually working on that :D For Gold Fury questions, abilities on objectives depends on the character but most of the time yes, the exceptions being towers and phoenixs as abilities don't hit them, agro swapped because she made you invisible with the cloud and she was visible :) If using pyro bomb on FG you should save it as a secure (think smite in League Of Legends)

Abilities do work on objectives and the titan but not towers (unless the ability says otherwise, I believe both Nu Wa and Yemoja can stun towers briefly). Since SMITE's junglers often don't run the equivalent of League's Smite spell (ironically), the job for objective securing falls towards the burst mage, whoever has the Pyromancer bomb, whoever else has a big burst damage ultimate (e.g. Ymir), or if the Solo laner or Support takes Sunder (the aforementioned equivalent to the Smite spell). Nemesis (lady with a big sword) is mostly used in Jungling and she's a really good duelist, kinda like what a Skirmisher in League would be. Funny that you compare Ymir to Trundle because Nemesis actually kind of has a similar gimmick to Trundle of stealing enemy stats temporarily (her passive reduces enemy and increases her own power, her ult reduces enemy and increases her own move speed and prots, her aspect makes her ultimate average her own hp with the enemy target's hp). Hun Batz (monke) is usually also a jungler but he has an aspect that lowers his damage in exchange for more CC so theoretically he *could* be a support, but he's newly released so people are still experimenting. His main claim-to-fame is really his ultimate which is the big totem that fears everyone. He's actually always a decent pocket pick in the pro scene in SMITE 1 because even when he's behind, the massive area and CC of his ult still makes him a scary jungler to face (I wasn't a jungle player in SMITE 1 so my knowledge of that role is from watching pro players).

Great video! Welcome to SMITE! The one thing I would recommend is to try and ease yourself off of auto-build. While it’s a helpful tool for new players it becomes a bad habit for many, especially when the builds don’t get updated and items get balanced. It also builds situational items that may not always be applicable. For example, it built your Ruinous Ankh even though their team had very little healing.

As a Smite veteran and as a main support, if this is one of your first games then you are doing very well, it is true that the only thing that many expect from Ymir is to connect the freeze (And you do it), but you use the wall very well which is by far much more important. Answering your question, when attacking a jungle boss (Fire Giant, Pyromancer, Gold Fury, Queen Naga) it is advisable to use your abilities IF you know there are no enemies nearby, if your god has a massive damage ability then you will want to use it to secure the objective if you see that it is possible that the enemy will steal it from you.

to answer to questions on abilities and objective. If the objective is a jungle boss like gold fury(dragon) or firegiant(baron) absouletly. In fact the best strat is to have multiple people on the team have their biggest burst abilities up for the end of so it doesnt get stolen. If the objective is structures like towers or pheonixes, as a rule most abilities dont interact with structures, but of course because moba there are a few that are exceptions to the rule. Yemoja and Nu Wa have abilities that stun towers, and cabrakan 3 refire can damage towers, but those are explicit exceptions. I didn't catch your previous videos. Honestly we need smite content creators that have some personality and excitement. For some of us even our good plays can feel mundane and we dont give them the hype they deserve. We've done them 100's of times already. It's a joy to see a new player excited to pull off the same stuff for the first time. Plus pro's can get pretty salty, and most of what they express is criticism and forget to express what keeps them coming back to the game and playing for 10 years and majority of the day. We've, as a community, kind of grew out of the sense of wonder.

9:22 So there's two correct plays that could have happened here and one would have resulted in Anhur and Nem dying. A: Cupid walks towards you, making them group up on top of you, they collapse, Cupid ults, dashes and re-engages when you stun, ult, and they get hit by the CC on the cupid ult. This requires communication, and some game knowledge (Which you dont have) and looking at the clip, the Cupid seems to not have his voice comms on. B: Which is the better option for you with the circumstances provided. The second you see the nemesis from Nu Wa ult (She basically gives vision to all teammates on all enemies.), you stop trying to wait for the Anhur to step up and mad dash that Nemesis, and freeze her (If cupid dashes here, the fights over, you reset and wait for her to leave) If he doesn't get scared and stays, you kit dump her she should die. Otherwise, freeze, wall jump away sit under tower until she goes away.

It’s really good that you are taking the time to read items and what they do. Another good thing would be to read champion kits and maybe even mess around with them in practice so you can start to identify what counters your preferred pool. For example, hun batz (the monkey) is squishier than your normal support because he was designed as a jungler, however he is also hyper mobile and can teleport to the monkey that he throws out which allows him to set up big plays with his ult by bouncing it off of a team that is grouped too tightly.
@nschaeffer622912 сағат бұрын
Also throwing in a tip against nemesis, that shield that she uses reflects damage dealt to her as well as heals her for the damage taken to the shield. However, any hard cc (stuns, roots, freezes, silences) instantly removes that shield preventing her from reflecting or healing from any more damage.

I am fighting off my urge to give major pointers as to me journey is one of the best parts of learning sth new. I commend your mindset for ragers. Regarding objective play: Almost all abilities don't work against towers (except Yemoja stun for some reason). As a support you can use your damaging abilities to hit fg/gold, try to hold off your crowd control in case enemies appear. Usually solo laner tries to keep enemies at a distance and support tanks the objective, but you might need CC abilities if they manage to power through to help/peal for the team or stall them enough to secure. Ymir ult is one of the hardest base hitting abilities so it's a decent secure if your mage can't burst in a pinch. Also great work on spamming the walls and their placements, people have a hard time getting used to them usually.

You have to judge when it’s worthwhile using your abilities to get jungle objectives and when it’s not. In your case (support ymir) it’s better to keep your abilities in case of an enemy trying to steal the objective so you can disrupt them or entirely stop them. When fighting structures only certain abilities do damage to them and you’ll just have to learn that. But it’s worth noting that you have 2 items, Polynomicon and Hydra’s lament, that boost your next basic attack after using an ability. In that case you can use abilities so shred structures faster as your basics will do more damage. As for the content you should make. Keep this going. It’s enjoyable for veterans to see new players play and I hope your content attracts more people to the game. We need some fresh meat if we want this game to live and your content with your comparison to league might help in getting new players. Keep your content going! P. S. Try jungle ymir with polynomicon and hydra's lament. It's really fun to play.

18:55 Abilities that only target gods do not hit objectives (think Nu Wa ult, Ares ult, Mulan 3), but a vast majority of them do. As a support you generally want to save your abilities, because they a) don’t do much damage; b) are better used on enemies should they decide to contest you. If you have a big bursty ability (like Ymir ult), you can use it when an objective is getting low to secure it.

Just some general tips I recognize you are still learning and using the premade builds provided, but bear in in mind these builds become out dated very quickly as the devs only update them on major occasions for instance transitioning from closed alpha to open beta. These auto builds were all built for patch ob1 and we are rapidly approaching ob3 and there are balance passes every few days so these builds are pretty out dated already. 2nd tip for basically the entire closed alpha period active items one of the big selling points of doing a sequel were worthless so going into patch ob1 they omega buffed several active items they have started to come back into line but screeching gargoyle, stampede, and talisman of purification are all great pickups for a support. Last thing the auto build you went in this game contains gauntlet of Thebes and prophetic cloak both of which are stacking items. Both take a little bit to come online and it can be awfully risky to go both it didn’t matter in this game because you got a lead early, but if you fell behind it would be very apparent how this build could cause problems for you. I know you probably won’t try your own builds for a while, but there are websites out there that provide more up to date builds. Cheers and keep up the good work.

Go into practice mode and get a feel for how much damage towers do. It's multiplicative damage. Starts at 1x next hit will do 1.5, next hit will do 3x next hit will do 6x. And it resets if you step out and start over. As a support this is something huge to play around when sieging towers. They get a protective buff if your minions aren't under it, but it can be the difference in getting the tower and having to prepare another siege.

So I guess there are a couple styles of content that I can think of when it comes to Smite: 1. Regular casual gameplay and commentary 2. Guides and tutorials 3. Ranked content or tryhard gameplay 4. Wacky build or challenge-type gameplay 5. Coaching or e-sport analysis and discussions 6. General Smite related news (upcoming patch notes, esports, drama etc.) 7. Data driven theory crafting 8. Memes, skits, etc. Currently, the Smite community is going through a shift in content creation. Many older creators recently switched to other mobas or simply quit after their veiwership tanked during the switch to Smite 2. So chances are that you might just end up filling a void left by other creators if you keep doing any of the things I listed. Or, you could try adding some new type of content people never thought they needed.

If it wasn't already told to you. Stack Items that need assists, don't actually need to be hit. You just need to be in range for them before they die. As soon as you see an exp/gold drop, that's an assist. Hitting Minions for assist does give you the possibility of moving out of range though if you want to shove and leave asap. Not really important for now I guess, but if it ever comes to it that your Duo is also Stacking, you'd want to let them do the damage since the stack Items for damage dealers don't scale on last hits but damage dealt.

Theres the Smite Community! LMAO

To be honest the Smite community has taken some serious blows with its content creators, sometimes due to Hi-Rez themselves driving them away (like PunkDuck), things were… not great in that regard for the last several years of Smite 1. So just seeing the Smite content space being revitalized is nice and I don’t think people really care to be picky about what exactly you do.

funny you should say that, i recently applied for their content creator program and got denied. ig hi-rez is being really careful who they let in, i figured with the content i have and what i have in mind for the near future would have been enough, but...eh~

before you try ranked, learn the items first because all the automatic items are good but are very situational.

Support in smite doesn't necessarily have to tank btw he acts as a second jungle in fights depending on what you are playing you may not have to be the frontline instead wait for someone to make a mistake or start the engagement so you use ur cc to punish them on the other hand it is generally the solo job to dive them if he is tanky or target the squishies. you are kinda of a strategist trying to support your team cause in the end game you will melt if you try to simply try to tank especially by hunters some supports aren't tanks at all like baron samedi and yemoja Try to save your ccs when doing objectives in case of invades and your ult to secure it if it is a dmg ult You are doing great keep it up 😁
