Unfortunately, it’s actually easier to soundly beat people that are starting to play the game right if you yourself are good at the game. Random mashers have no idea what they’ll do next, so neither do you. However, people that are early on the path to being good tend to operate in fairly predictable but intelligent ways - however, they don’t fully understand the game sense that goes into it, or haven’t adapted to that style of play yet, so they wind up both predictable and ineffective, even though they’re actually playing right and have potential. If that makes sense at all.
